His professional credentials are the hallmark of his effective service to thousands of clients over the years. He holds both the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) professional degrees from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. The CLU designation is the oldest (1930) credential an insurance advisor can obtain. CLUs must pass a series of exams and meet continuing education requirements, as well as adhere to the highest ethical standards. Tormey graduated as a CLU on October 12, 1994. The ChFC® designation has been awarded since 1978, and a ChFC® primarily works with the affluent, business owners, and other professionals. Tormey earned his degree on October 18, 1995. He is also an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®). The AEP® designation is a graduate level accreditation in estate planning obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning. To obtain membership in the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC), you must first specialize in estate planning as an accountant (CPA), attorney (JD), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) or as a trust officer (CTFA). The NAEPC awards the AEP designation only to those estate planning professionals who meet special requirements in education, knowledge, professional reputation, ethics, character, continuing education and has a minimum of 5 years experience as an estate planner. Tormey was awarded this designation on April 14, 2006. Tormey is a Certified Long Term Care Planner (CLTC), which is a designation focused on Elder Law, long term care planning and long term care insurance in the US. All CLTC graduates must maintain a minimum standard of competence and adhere to a strict ethical code of conduct. He earned his designation on January 9, 2006.
