Alex M. Muñoz - SVP

Alex earned his bachelor's degree in construction management from Bowling Green State University in 1993. In 2001, he earned an MBA from Franklin University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati Class 43. Alex began his career with Messer in 2012, bringing more than 18 years of construction risk management and operations experience. He has utilized his experience to build a proactive risk management approach, protecting Messer's interest as well as the interest of our clients and subcontractor partners. He also provides executive level support and leadership for the Rental Division and private equity investments in Messer Financial Services. Alex serves the community as a member of the Cincinnati Ballet Board of Trustees since 2014.

Amy L. Hanson

Amy is the CEO of Amy Hanson Advisory Services, providing retail, real estate and credit strategy services to a variety of clients including retailers, private equity and real estate firms. Amy spent 33 years at Macy's Inc., in a variety of senior leadership roles, culminating in her role as EVP of Credit, Customer and Financial Services and as a corporate officer. She oversaw a variety of functions of Macy's, including real estate, store planning, design and construction, and non-merchandise procurement. She also led sustainability and supplier diversity efforts for the company. Before her corporate role, she had served as Vice Chairman and Director of Stores for Macy's North. Prior to that role, she was the president of Macy's Credit and Customer Services. She joined Macy's in 1983 as a senior auditor, and is a CPA. Amy is a member of the boards of LSI, Inc., Strivve.Inc, and CFNA (a division of Bridgestone Corporation). She is active in the Cincinnati community, serving as President of the Board of Trustees for the Cincinnati Art Museum, serving on the board of directors of The Christ Hospital Health Network and the Cincinnati Country Day School Foundation.

Braden joined Messer in 2003 upon graduating from the University of Dayton with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. His experience includes several projects completed for Miami University and the University of Dayton among many others. Braden also plays an active role in Messer's quality committee and recruiting efforts. In the community, Braden previously served on the Board for the March of Dimes and is now serving on the board for the Dayton Art Institute. Braden is also involved with the University of Dayton School of Engineering Dean's Industry Advisors Counsel and Leadership Dayton. He is a supporter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Junior Achievement USA, Culture Works Dayton and United Way of the Greater Dayton Area.

Brian A. Doyle

Brian began his career with Messer in 1998 as a co-op and was hired full time in 2000 as a project accountant after graduating from the College of Mount St. Joseph (now Mount St. Joseph University) with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Brian embraced new roles and responsibilities in Messer's corporate accounting department early in his career and earned a master's degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 2010. Brian is also a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati Class 38. He has broad experience in financial analysis, capital planning, investment management, partnership structuring, real estate development, accounting, and tax. He is now serving as vice president of finance and investment where he's responsible for managing Messer's investment portfolio consisting of real estate, private equity, and marketable securities. In this role, he's focused on strategic investments that enable growth opportunities for Messer's employee owners and optimize long-term shareholder return. Notably, he leads the efforts of Messer Development Company which is focused on deploying equity in real estate development projects where Messer is the builder. Brian serves on the board of trustees for Mount St. Joseph University where he also serves on the Financial Sustainability Committee and chairs the Building, Plant and Technology Subcommittee. He previously served on the Board of Trustees for the University of Cincinnati's Economic Center and was a finance committee member for the Cincinnati chapter of the American Red Cross.

Brian Borcherding

He has provided leadership across a diverse portfolio of complex construction projects and renovations for higher education, industrial, health care and commercial customers. Specifically, he's overseen projects for 3CDC, Mount St. Joseph University, Fidelity, Paycor and Mercy Health. Currently, he is overseeing construction of the Digital Futures Complex in Cincinnati and VEGA Americas headquarters in Mason, Ohio. Brian is active in the Cincinnati community, serving on the Board of Directors for Community Matters and Crayons 2 Computers.

Brooks A. Parker

Brooks began his career with Messer in 1975 as a journeyman carpenter. He is a graduate of Hocking College, holds certifications in Mobile Crane Inspection, Mobile & Tower Crane Operations (NCCCO), Master Trainer (NCCER), ACI Concrete Flatwork Finisher & Technician, and is an OSHA 500 authorized construction trainer. Brooks quickly progressed in his career having held roles including carpenter foreman, field superintendent, project manager, Craftforce Development Executive and officer. He gained experience on numerous projects including health care, religious, government, retail, entertainment, industrial, laboratories, multi-family housing, parking structures, distribution centers and office buildings. Brooks is active in the community and serves on the board for Brighton Center and Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development Advisory Committee.

Carl Dennin

Carl joined Messer in 2002 upon graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. In 2007, he relocated to Indianapolis to help establish Messer's presence in the region. His nearly 20 years of construction leadership experience includes various sectors of work such as healthcare, data centers, parking structures, complex commercial and infrastructure. Most notably, $98M Riley Maternity & Newborn Health Renovation, over 10 years and 100+ projects of IU Health account leadership and CCHMC Special Projects. Outside of his role, Carl is the hiring and recruiting lead for new employees and the executive lead for the Messer YP group in the Indianapolis region. Carl is also a member of American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and is a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC). In the community, Carl has been on the board of Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis since 2014 and is on the executive committee, and volunteers in the children's ministry at his local church.

Charles R. Patton

Charles is Executive Vice President of External Affairs at American Electric Power (AEP). He served in numerous executive positions throughout his tenure with AEP prior to his current role leading customer services, communications, regulatory, federal public policy and corporate sustainability organizations. He has been the president and chief operating officer of two AEP subsidiaries: Appalachian Power, serving approximately one million customers in West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee; and AEP Texas, serving over one million customers in South and West Texas. Other roles at AEP have included executive vice president, AEP Utilities West and senior vice president, Regulatory and Public Policy. Throughout his career, Charles has served and chaired numerous professional and civic organizations in the communities in which he has lived. Today, he serves on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers, Center for Workforce Development and the Columbus YMCA. At AEP, he is an executive sponsor of the African American Employee Resource Group. Charles is a graduate of Bowdoin College, located in Brunswick, Maine, and holds a graduate degree from The University of Texas LBJ School of Public Policy.

Charles S. Mechem

Charles practiced law with the firm of Taft Stettinius and Hollister from 1955 to 1967 with three years hiatus while serving in the United States Army: eighteen months as an enlisted man and eighteen months as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He also served as Chairman and CEO of Taft Broadcasting Company and its successor Great American Broadcasting Company from 1967 until 1989. Charles returned to Taft Stettinius and Hollister for a brief time before being named Commissioner of the Ladies Professional Golf Association in October 1990 where he served until 1995. He acted as personal business advisor to the late Arnold Palmer and Hall of Fame golfers Juli Inkster and Annika Sorenstam. Charles has served on numerous corporate and foundation boards and served as non-executive Chairman of U.S. Shoe, Cincinnati Bell and Convergys Corporation. He sat on the Presidential Board of Advisors on Private Sector Initiatives from 1985 to 1987. He was bestowed Honorary Doctor of Law degrees from both Miami University in 1980 and Ohio University in 1984. In 2000, he was named a Great Living Cincinnatian, the highest honor that can be awarded by the City of Cincinnati.

Chris Steigerwald

Chris began his career with Messer in 1989 as a co-op and was hired on full time upon graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Construction Management. He completed the University of Cincinnati Executive Program (UCEP) in 2005 and attained his LEED AP certification in 2008. He has provided leadership across a diverse portfolio of complex construction projects in aviation, health care, higher education and industrial market segments for such clients at Middletown Regional Hospital, Mercy Hospital Fairfield and St. Elizabeth Medical Center. In 2007, he relocated to Nashville, TN from Cincinnati, OH to help establish Messer's eighth region, where his portfolio expanded to include State of Tennessee, Tennessee Board of Regents, Metro Nashville Airport Authority, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and multiple private owners. In addition to his role as Operations Vice President, Chris leads Messer's Supplier Diversity Leadership Team and Federal/Military market segment efforts in the Nashville region. Chris is active in the Nashville community serving on Tennessee State University Civil and Architectural Engineering Program Industry Advisory Board, the St. Joseph Catholic Church Campus Development Committee, and supporting the Frist Art Museum. He also spent two years on the Board of Directors of Associated General Contractors Middle Tennessee Chapter and six years on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

Christopher M. Malinowski

Chris began his career with Messer in 1992 while studying for his bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Cincinnati before joining full time in 1996. Chris is certified by the US Green Building Council as a LEED AP, displaying knowledge and leadership in energy and environmental design. A graduate of Leadership Columbus, he's used his skills to lead several projects to award-winning status. His diverse project experience includes educational and industrial facilities, aviation, K-12, parking garages and office buildings. After serving the Ohio regions, he seized the opportunity to relocate to Charlotte, NC to help establish Messer's presence in our newest region at the time, where he currently serves as Operations Vice President. He is active in the Charlotte community encouraging diversity on every Messer project. His efforts were awarded in 2016 with the Diversity Advocate of the Year for Charlotte Minority Enterprise Development Week. Chris' other community support includes serving as a board member and operations committee chair for the Hospitality House of Charlotte and is actively involved with The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance.

Paul began his career with Messer in 1985 after receiving a bachelor's in business administration from Xavier University in 1983. He was promoted to controller in 1996 and then chief financial officer in 2010. Today, Paul oversees all Messer's financial affairs including expenditures and finances. Since joining Messer, Erin has provided leadership across a diverse portfolio of award-winning projects including health care and higher education facilities, corporate offices, aviation concourses, multifamily housing, government buildings, distribution centers, retail/entertainment and parking garages. Notably, he oversaw the development of the Surgical and Heart Center at Grant Medical Center in Columbus which earned both an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Miami Valley Chapter Award of Excellence and an Associated General Contractors (AGC) Build Ohio Award in 2007. Erin added a second AGC Build Ohio Award in 2013 for the City of Columbus 77 North Front Street project, and a 2001 Build Kentucky Award for the Newport on the Levee. In his current role, Erin oversees Messer's central Ohio portfolio, which includes current work with Adena Health Systems, Campus Partners, Memorial Health, Mount Carmel Health Systems, Nationwide Children's Hospital, Nationwide Realty Investors, NiSource, OhioHealth, Ohio Living, and NiSource. He is responsible for providing executive-level operational leadership to projects, as well as allocating resources and supporting overall performance and business development in Columbus. He is active in the central Ohio community and serves on various boards including the Boy Scouts of America Simon Kenton Council and the AGC Central Ohio Chapter.

Over his tenure, Greg provided leadership for multiple projects and built relationships with many clients; he has experience in health care, commercial and industrial projects. Greg's project expertise and leadership helped him progress to his current role as vice president for Messer's Cincinnati region. Greg is very engaged in the community and serves on the following boards: Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Camp Joy, Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Cincinnati, AGC of Ohio, and the Chair of theNorthern Kentucky University Construction Management Industry Advisory Board. Greg previously served for six years on the American Heart Association Cincinnati Chapter Board where he chaired the Cincinnati AHA "Hard Hats with Hearts" campaigns in 2018 and 2019, and currently serves as Gala Chair for the 2021 Spirit of Construction Foundation.

Jason has provided leadership across a diverse portfolio of complex commercial construction projects and renovations for health care, industrial, higher education, aviation and distillery customers. Specifically, he's overseen projects for Ephraim McDowell Health, Harrison Memorial Hospital, Shriners Hospital, UK Healthcare, University of Kentucky, Woodford Reserve, Castle and Key, and the historic Fayette County Courthouse. Currently, he is leading a multi-phase renovation for the Kentucky State Capitol. In his role as an officer of the company, Wright is responsible for project performance, customer satisfaction, and ensuring site staff have the resources to deliver projects safely, with high quality, on time and on budget. Jason is active in the Lexington community-having served on the boards of Ronald McDonald House of the Bluegrass, American Red Cross Bluegrass Area Chapter and CASA of Lexington.

Jeff Banta

In 2008, he seized the opportunity to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, to help establish Messer's presence in our newest region at the time. Drawing on 20+ years of experience, Jeff finds innovative ways to achieve client goals on complex projects and works well leading project teams to solve challenges proactively. Jeff has diverse project experience across several industries including healthcare, education, aviation and industrial, such as the University of Cincinnati Health Operating Room Expansion, Jack Daniels Homeplace improvements and Bottling Plant expansion. His higher education experience includes major projects at Vanderbilt University, Middle Tennessee State University, Nashville State and Northern Kentucky University. Recently, he has been leading several projects at the Nashville International Airport (BNA), including the 5,000 car Terminal Parking Garage and the new Airport Administration Building. While not working on projects, Jeff supports the Nashville Ronald McDonald House and serves on the Commercial Construction Management Advisory Board for Middle Tennessee State University.

Jim graduated from Purdue University, earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1980. He joined Messer in 2022, bringing over 30 years of strategic and tactical IT leadership experience. Jim spent the bulk of his career leading technology in the manufacturing sector, serving the construction and automotive industries. More recently, he has served in executive IT advisory and consulting roles for several large and small companies and institutions, most of which have been in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. In the community, Jim serves as a board member and Executive Treasurer for the Ripley County Community Foundation in Indiana. He also leads the technology committee for Bethany House Services and serves the Greater Cincinnati Foundation as a technology committee member. In the past, Jim served as troop scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America in the Dan Beard Council of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Jim Brunemann - VP

Jim started his construction career as a teenage loading trucks with various jobsite materials, scaffolding and equipment for his family's company. He graduated from Xavier University in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in Management and Finance, he received a diploma at the Carter School of estimating in New Hampshire in 1981 and received his MBA in Finance at Xavier University by 1984. Jim has more than 45 years of knowledge and experience in construction, and within that time over 40 years in project management, estimating and sales. In 1990, Jim moved to general contracting with EGC Construction as estimator and project manager in the Medical and Commercial group. In 1996, Jim became director of the Commercial and Medical group at EGC, and in 1999, he was appointed to vice president of the Commercial and Medical group. In 2019, EGC was purchased by Messer Construction Co., and Jim was appointed President of EGC. Jim has been involved with Allied Construction Industries (ACI) group, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a supporter of the St Elizabeth Foundation, Heart Foundation, Villa Madonna School and Boosters for Covington Catholic High school.
