Strayer-Tripp Inc., also known as STI Firearms, is a firearms manufacturing company founded in 1980. The company was established with one particular idea in mind - to produce modular, high-capacity 1911 pistols aimed mostly at competition shooters. In 2020, STI Firearms made a public announcement that they'd rename themselves to Staccato 2011®. The new name of the company comes from a line of 1911 pistols introduced in 2019. The pistols were marketed as STI's new brand designed for use as duty and self-defense oriented pistols rather than strictly competition handguns. The new line was well received by both consumers and professionals according to STI and as such they have selected this line of pistols to represent the company going forward.
