WESTFIELD & UNION - Key Persons
Josh Wang, owner of both Westfield & Union locations, has had Manhattan Bagel roots in his family since the mid-90s. Josh's father-in-law Sy Appelbaum first opened a Manhattan Bagel in Elizabeth, NJ in 1994. Sy then expanded operations to Union, NJ in 2002 & then Westfield, NJ in 2003. Sy retired in 2015 and Josh has since run both locations (Elizabeth location was sold to another owner in 2003). Both Sy & Josh discovered the secret to having a successful, delicious bagel shop and have followed their values & beliefs together for over 25 years. Many of their staff members at both locations have been there for the journey, making it a really personal experience for both longtime employees & longtime customers.
