Dr. García-Borreguero, an internationally recognized expert in Sleep Medicine and president of the Spanish Sleep Society until recently, directs and coordinates a large team of professionals from diverse disciplines, which attends to the different cases that are treated as well as the research conducted at the institute.
Dr. García-Borreguero studied medicine at the University of Navarra, graduating in 1984. From 1986 to 1990 he specialized in Neurology and Psychiatry at the Max-Planck Institute in Munich (Germany), where he simultaneously conducted research in neuropharmacology, completing his doctoral thesis at the University of Munich in 1988 with the distinction "Cum Laude". Between 1990 and 1995 he specialized in sleep medicine at Georgetown University and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda.
From 1995 to 2005, he directed the Sleep Unit (Neurology Service) of the Jiménez Díaz Foundation (FJD), the hospital affiliated with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. During his time as the head of the sleep unit at the FJD, it became one of the most comprehensive units in Spain thanks to its human resources and equipment as well as its research activity focused primarily on movement disturbances in sleep, such as hypersomnia.
Since 2005, he has been directing the Sleep Research Institute (IIS), where he has continued to strengthen his prestige in the field of neurological sleep disorders through both his research and clinical practice. Dr. García-Borreguero is the former president of the Spanish Sleep Society and part of the leading group of world experts on Restless Legs Syndrome, the International Restless Legs Study Group (www.irlssg.org). Between 2004 and 2008, he was secretary of the European Sleep Research Society, with which he actively collaborates through various committees related to the practice of Sleep Medicine in Europe. Additionally, he is an elected member (fellow) of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and has been the coordinator of the Sleep Disorders Group of the Spanish Neurology Society.
At an international level, Dr. García Borreguero is one of the opinion leaders in the field sleep-related movement disorders and publishes numerous international publications on the topic every year. He regularly gives classes and conferences in Europe, the United States, and Asia and works intensely to publicize the topic in national and international media.

Dr. Néstor Montesdeoca graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He completed his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at La Paz University Hospital. He directed the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Clinic University of Navarra from 2007 to 2012, being professor of the Faculty of Medicine during that period.
Dr. Néstor Montesdeoca is a Fellow of the European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Cum laude by the University of Navarra and Diploma in Orthognathic Surgery by the Roth Williams Center for Functional Oclussion. He has received numerous national and international awards for his scientific and technological contribution, he is the author of 40 articles and book chapters. He is a frequent lecturer in scientific meetings. He has organized numerous courses and conferences highlighting two International Symposiums on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (Pamplona and Madrid) and the 13th National Congress of Oral Surgery and Implantology (Pamplona).
He was a member of the Board of Directors of SECOM (Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery), founding member and treasurer of the Madrid Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He belongs to the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He currently holds private practice as Co-Director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the La Luz Hospital in Madrid and as Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service at the Md Anderson Cancer Center in Madrid.

Dr. Sofía Romero Peralta studied Medicine at the University of Alcalá de Henares (2005-2011) and specialized in Pneumology at the University Hospital of Guadalajara (2012-2016).
During her training, she expanded hes studies in sleep pathology in Manhattan, New York, in several centers accredited by the American Sleep Academy, among those who stand out, the New York University Sleep Center located at Bellevue Hospital, Sleep Medicine Associates of NYC, and Dental Sleep Apnea New York (specific training in sleep dentistry). She has worked on the reading and interpretation of sleep studies at the Santa Cristina Hospital in Madrid.
Currently working as a Neumologist at the SLeep Research Institute, and also in the Sleep and Non-Invasive Ventilation Unit of the University Hospital of Guadalajara in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep pathology. She is also doing her doctoral thesis based on Sleep Medicine and is a member of different scientific societies related to pulmonology and sleep pathology.

She has a degree in Dentistry from the Complutense University of Madrid, an Implant Prosthesis Specialist and a Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry from the same university. It also has a course in Endodontics conducted at the Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and the University Certificate of Diagnosis and Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain, by the Complutense University of Madrid.
After completing the Master in Dental Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2012 he is doing his doctoral thesis at the same university based on Sleep Odontology on patients referred by different specialists from various hospitals in the Community of Madrid.
Currently, she carries out her professional activity as a dentist in clinics in Madrid and since December 2015 she has joined the Sleep Research Institute as a collaborator in the treatment of patients with simple snoring and Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome through Mandibular Advancement Devices.
He has collaborated in the Postgraduate Course in Prosthetic and Occlusal Therapy taught by Dr. Jaime del Río and in the Course of Temporomandibular Disorders and Sleep Apnea taught by Dr. Isabel Moreno There are both in the Institute of Superior Dental Studies; as well as in specific classes at the Complutense University of Madrid, all of them dedicated to the role of the dentist in Sleep Apnea Syndrome, its diagnosis and treatment; imparting both theoretical and practical part.
During the 2011-2012 academic year he collaborated in the Spanish Observatory for the Safety of the Odontological Patient (OESPO) belonging to the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid, during which he wrote his article DUW in dentistry.
That same year he wrote "Orthodontic treatment of sleep apnea syndrome", which was the winner of the first prize in the XII Prizes End of Career in Dentistry of the journal GACETA DENTAL.
He is an assistant to several current courses and congresses in dentistry.
