Debbie Cummins

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Dr Alan Twomey

Dr Alan Twomey (m) MBBS St Marys Paddington 1996 BSc UCL 1995 DRCOG 2003, MRCGP 2004 Interests in Cardiology, Oncology, Palliative Care and Orthopaedics I am also working as a GPsI in Oncology at the Sunrise Centre at Treliske. After growing up in London and going to medical school there I left for my first job in Portsmouth planning to return to the big city. But once I discovered there really was life outside London I never returned. I worked in the Lake District, Liverpool, Nottingham, Barnstaple, Plymouth and Australia; covering jobs such as Orthopaedics, Anaesthetics and ITU, Psychiatry, Oncology and Cardiology. I completed my GP training in Mevagissey in 2004 and decided to stay here in beautiful Cornwall. I worked as a GP in a practice in Helston from 2004 until 2017. I enjoy music and most especially football LFC YNWA. Together with my wife and three kids we enjoy the outdoors, cycling, swimming, surfing and kayaking.

Dr Emmie Carter (f) Specialist Interest: Women's Health including contraception and menopause. BA (Hons) Geography 2002 MBBS Brighton and Sussex Medical School 2008 Diploma in Emergency Medicine / DIPEC South Africa 2010 Diploma in FSRH 2017 Post qualification, I travelled to South Africa to work as a doctor in Emergency Medicine. On returning to Cornwall I decided to train as a GP. I now have a specialist interest in Sexual and Reproductive Health having just gained my diploma in that area. I fit coils and implants at the surgery. Outside work, I enjoy sea swimming and running the Cornish coast paths.

Dr Richard Williams

Dr Richard Williams (m) BM BA Bch Oxford 1987 MRCP (UK) 1993 My very first job as a doctor was in Truro and I have remained in Cornwall ever since, apart from a 'temporary' 5 year spell in and around London gaining a broad range of experience including Psychiatry, Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I also spent 6 months working in a rural mission hospital in Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa in 1995. I joined Westover Surgery in 2004 and became Senior Partner in 2016. I have developed an interest and expertise in joint and soft tissue injections. I enjoy running, cycling and my garden and sailing when the weather is nice enough.

Zoe Ogden

Andrew Taylor, Nicola Child and Zoe Ogden are our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Practitioners. All have extensive expertise in the clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of MSK (muscle or joint) conditions. They see patients, aged 16 and over, with (suspected or diagnosed) MSK conditions as the first point of contact without the need for a GP referral. Appointments can be booked directly by contacting the practice receptionist team.
