Alicia continues to serve as a School Social Worker, providing a unique, caring, and trauma-informed counseling approach to students in an Elementary School setting. Alicia's experience and passion is working with youth who are in crisis, managing depression, anxiety, confidence issues, grief and loss, and behavior and attention issues that are impacting school success. Alicia has valuable experience working closely with youth and families in community settings, as well. Ariella Laskin

Ariella Laskin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Connecticut Certified School Social Worker who holds a Master's in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. She is thrilled to be joining the team at Connecticut Behavioral Health to continue her work with children and adolescents. Ariella's experience has focused on children and adolescents within the school setting with diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Delays, and Emotional Disability, among others. In addition to her work in schools, Ariella has also worked with LGBTQ youth and their caregivers in both individual and group settings. Prior to her career in School Social Work, Ariella worked in the area of Educational Publishing for the K-12 market, writing, editing, managing content creation for English/Language Arts and Social Studies, developing curriculum, and creating online learning programs. Ariella enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, playing tennis, and drinking as much good coffee as she can find.

Ben has worked in school settings and private practices for over 25 years and currently runs his own private practice. He currently supervises clinicians at Connecticut Behavioral Health. He has worked with people of all ages and takes a holistic approach. He believes clients possess the answers they are looking for and counseling can help them find these answers through nonjudgment guidance.

Bianca Carrero

Bianca Carrero is an LPC-A and obtained a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Saint Joseph, and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Western CT State University. Bianca has experience with with children, adolescents, families, and adults dealing with dual substance use and mental health challenges. She have provided crisis management, individual, group, and family therapy at residential, in-home, and outpatient settings. Bianca also has experience with adolescents, preteens, and teens in a school setting, assisting students with mental health by understanding the root of their stressors. Bianca works together with her clients to establish positive coping strategies that help each individual to feel more engaged, connected, and at their best self.

Cassondra (Cassie) Acampora

Cassondra (Cassie) Acampora is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who obtained a Masters in Social Work at the University of Connecticut. Prior to Ms. Acampora obtaining her Masters in Social Work, she obtained her Bachelors Degree at the University of Connecticut in Human Development and Family Studies and was an assistant pre-school teacher for a year. Ms. Acampora has provided psychotherapy services within the school system servicing elementary, middle, and high school students. Upon obtaining her MSW, Ms. Acampora gained a wealth of experience working with culturally diverse children, adolescents, adults, and families dealing with life stressors, mental health, and substance use challenges. Ms. Acampora has provided crisis management, individual, group, and family psychotherapy at residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. Ms. Acampora primarily utilizes a psychodynamic approach, which helps individuals gain insight into their unconscious thoughts, feelings, and past experiences to better understand potential driving forces to current challenges. Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith joined CBH in 2021. He received his Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University in 2001 and has been working as a BCBA in Connecticut since 2002. Dan has worked with school teams and families in a variety of settings including public schools, clinical school settings, and in-home settings. Dan's areas of interest include program quality development and training with school teams and families.

Demetri Kostas

Demetri Kostas is a Ct State Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) who joined CBH on a part time basis in September of 2020. He received his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and Master's degree in Business Administration (with a concentration in Healthcare Management) from Quinnipiac University. Demetri has had much clinical and administrative experience working with the latency, adolescent and adult population. Demetri is focused on providing competent patient care and utilizing 10+ years of clinical expertise to help patients navigate effectively managing their emotions and feelings. Always looking to increase his clinical knowledge, Demetri is currently taking a seven-month Trauma training course with Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk (Author of "The Body Keeps The Score"). He received his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The State University of New York, New Paltz and his Ph.D. in School Psychology from The University of Memphis. Dr. Pedro completed his clinical internship at The Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical Center and continued working at the LSU Medical Center after his internship year in their Child Development Center. Dr. Pedro has worked as a consulting psychologist and school psychologist to schools in New Orleans, LA, Memphis, TN, and throughout Connecticut. Additionally, Dr. Pedro worked for the Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC) in New York, running both day treatment and in-home treatment services. Haleigh Lombardi

Jenna Harma

Jenna Harma is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) whose clinical experience has concentrated on the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. She graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, completing her graduate internship providing individual counseling and parent guidance to youth and their families at Westwood Youth and Family Services. Jenna's early work experience includes serving as a milieu counselor and case manager/family therapist at the Franciscan Hospital for Children's Residential Assessment and Acute Residential Treatment Programs and a clinician for St. Francis Home for Children's Residential Treatment and Extended Day Treatment Programs providing individual, group, and family therapy to youth ages 5 to 17 years old. She was also employed by Wheeler Clinic as a clinician for their Crisis Stabilization Program, an alternative to hospitalization program for adolescents in crisis. She has been an outpatient therapist at Connecticut Behavioral Health since 2019 and also works as an elementary School Based Behavioral Health Clinician with Cornerstone Counseling Center. Jenna has experience working with youth with a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral struggles such as anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior disorders, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, and child-parent relationship issues. She is in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy and utilizes a prescriptive approach to treatment, assessing client's needs and building on their strengths through the use of therapeutic play, child-centered, and cognitive-behavioral techniques.

Jessica Hoff

Jessica Hoff is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been with CBH since the Spring of 2021. She will be entering her third year as a contracted BCBA with The Consolidated School District of New Britain for the 2023-2024 school year and provides home-based ABA care as well. Jessica graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. From there, she went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Central Florida. In 2016, Jessica began her career in Applied Behavior Analysis by working as a part-time Registered Behavior Technician while also a stay at home mom to her son Odin. Once Odin went off to Kindergarten, Jessica began the Certified Course Sequence in Behavior Analysis at Southern CT State University and graduated in 2019. In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, Jessica passed her BCBA exam and excitedly began her next chapter in Behavior Analysis. Before joining CBH, she has acted as a Director of Home-Based ABA Services, gaining experience with individuals from ages 3-19. Jessica has been accepted to two PhD programs in Applied Behavior Analysis and is planning to choose a program to begin in the Fall of 2024. Her research interests include investigating a top down approach of training within school-based ABA programs. The purpose is for teachers to fully understand rationale, as well as be fully competent in applying evidence-based interventions. From there, teacher's will train para-educators on proper implementation of interventions, overseeing their implementation. Jessica loves spending time with her family, camping, bowling, playing board games, watching movies, bike riding, and fishing. She is an intermediate Salsa dancer and enjoys weekly lessons and socials in the area. Jessica, a violist, enjoys playing alongside her son Odin, a cellist and supporting him during his football season.

Shelly McNulty is a licensed clinical social worker and the Director of Clinical Services and Therapeutic Home Services for Connecticut Behavioral Health. She received her bachelor's degree in sociology and applied behavioral sciences, with a minor in psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1992. She completed her Master's in Social Work at University of Connecticut in 1998 and her Master's in School Psychology at Southern Connecticut State University in 2006, where she also completed her graduate work for her Educational Leadership - Intermediate Administrator's Certification in 2012. Shelly's work has always been in supporting children, teens, and adults in living their best life. Shelly began her work supporting adults with developmental disabilities in group homes and day programs for adults. Shelly worked for over 8 years as a social worker and supervisor at the Department of Children and Families, advocating for children's safety and supporting families with difficult situations. For the last 20 years, Shelly has worked in a school system, in which she held several roles, including School Social Worker and Director of Special Education. Throughout Shelly's career, she has always sought out opportunities to expand her visibility and connection to the community in which she has worked, including prevention models that work for children, teens and families. This has included managing a"Community Conversation" Grant addressing parents and students concerns with bullying; arranging for State's Attorney to speak with parents , community and students regarding online safety; serving as the chair for prevention task force; and initiating a grant to implement Positive Behavior Supports in schools. Shelly's philosophy of ensuring children are emotionally well supported at home and has been evidenced in her creative and problem solving strategies to ensure children and teens are able to remain in their own neighborhood schools and communities as they manage their emotions in a supportive therapeutic environment. Shelly's knowledge in family court, probate court and challenging family dynamics has been key in not only in addressing complex family issues, but has allowed her to build trusting relationships with the children, teens, parents and families she supports. Through her professional and personal experience she has come to realize that each child is a unique individual, who needs (and has the right to) a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment to be able to achieve their fullest potential emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually. For this reason, careful attention is made to ensure that the child's needs are being met in balanced form. As a trained and educated social worker she is keenly aware of how small details of a child's life experience may impact their life in multiple environments.

Stephanie Hamed Borowy

Stephanie Hamed Borowy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a CT Certified School Psychologist. She has had extensive experience in behavior management and rehabilitation counseling, particularly in the area of brain injury. She has had extensive training in long term residential and outpatient settings, and in CT public schools. In particular, Ms. Borowy's training includes time on a secured residential unit for young adults post - brain injury, exhibiting persistent behavior problems, as well as in an alternative special education school for middle and high school students who required more individualized support than that available in a regular education school setting. Ms. Borowy earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Connecticut College, in New London, CT, as well as a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Southern CT State University, in New Haven, CT. Finally, Ms. Borowy earned her Sixth Year Certification in School Psychology at Southern CT State University. She has worked for nearly twenty years as a Certified School Psychologist in CT, facilitating individual and group counseling, completing comprehensive psychoeducation assessments, and designing and implementing FBA's. Her current community involvement includes time spent volunteering with brain injury survivors in rehabilitation at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, CT, as well as with a local church youth group.
