Abigail Palmer-Page

Abigail advises on all probate and estate administration matters. Abigail trained in the City and spent the early part of her legal career working in corporate tax before moving into general private client work. She then focused on probate and succession matters at another City law firm. Abigail joined the tax and trusts department at Stevens & Bolton in 2017, as an estate administration specialist. She became a Senior Associate in 2019 and a Managing Associate in 2022. Abigail is experienced in the whole range of estate administration matters from providing a responsive service in more straightforward estates, where clients appreciate her calm efficiency and friendly approach, through to advising on complex estates which may require consideration of aspects such as inheritance tax reliefs, trust arrangements, post-death variations and international elements. Her focus is on advising in a pragmatic and helpful way, while recognising that this can often be a challenging time for clients. Aidan Welton

Aidan works with clients from a variety of sectors advising on a wide range of real estate transactions. Aidan joined Stevens & Bolton in 2022 from a City law firm having qualified in 2016. Aidan regularly acts for landlords and tenants on a range of issues including acquisitions and disposals, new leases and renewals, as well as on development projects for landowners and lenders. His experience includes development, development finance, healthcare and retail. In 2021, Aidan was seconded to an American multinational sports footwear and apparel retailer for just over a year assisting their in-house real estate legal counsel on a range of real estate matters throughout EMEA.

Alasdair McDowell

Alasdair advises clients on a variety of commercial matters. Alasdair joined Stevens & Bolton in November 2020. Coming from a disputes background, Alasdair brings a fresh and distinct perspective to commercial work. Alex Watt

Alex has experience in a wide range of commercial property matters including development projects, the acquisition and disposal of investment property and advising companies in relation to their occupational requirements. Alex trained and qualified at a Magic Circle firm. He joined Stevens & Bolton as a partner in 2016. Alex's experience includes development and regeneration work and he is regularly asked to provide advice on complicated option, promotion and overage arrangements. He also acts for clients on the purchasing, selling and management of investment properties as well as advice on landlord and tenant matters including the letting of offices, retail premises and industrial units.

Alice Donzelot

Alice joined Stevens & Bolton LLP in 2016 having trained at Olswang LLP. She qualified in March 2014. Andrew Carter

Andrew is an experienced M&A lawyer who advises corporate and institutional clients on cross-border and domestic private M&A transactions across a variety of sectors, including real estate and technology. Andrew joined Stevens & Bolton in 2023. Prior to this, Andrew worked at two leading City firms where he was also seconded for six months to an investment bank. He qualified in 2015.

Andrew Dodds

Andrew is a versatile, straightforward and proactive finance lawyer who helps clients to lend or borrow money and advises on a wide range of finance transactions. Andrew trained and worked in the City for over 10 years before joining Stevens & Bolton in 2015. He became a partner in 2019. Andrew specialises in banking and finance law and transactions. He works with borrowers, funders and other stakeholders on all kinds of finance transactions and deal sizes, and has particular experience in acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset based lending and structured finance. Andrew also has experience in financial debt restructurings and derivatives. He advises on the structuring of finance transactions, the drafting and negotiation of loan agreements, intercreditor arrangements, guarantee and security documents and all related agreements. Clients include high street and challenger banks, investment banks, private equity firms, shareholders, investors and management teams, as well as corporate and individual borrowers across the real estate, financial services, professional services, energy and infrastructure and insurance and technology sectors. Andrew also has a number of good relationships with leading mid-market debt advisers. His work often has an international dimension.

Andrew Steele

Andrew is the head of the real estate practice which supports a wide range of clients on real estate projects. He takes pride in delivering a high-quality and responsive service for clients. Andrew trained in Scotland and worked in leading law firms in London and Australia before joining Stevens & Bolton in 2004. He became a partner in 2006 and took over management of the real estate group in 2017. Andrew has a very wide range of experience acting for developers, investors, funders and corporate occupiers and believes that enables him to advise a wide range of clients in different situations. Over the years he has built up experience dealing with many assets including offices, nurseries, GP surgeries and pharmacies, car dealerships, care homes, residential development sites, warehousing and distribution, pubs, shops and restaurants. He is actively involved in the healthcare, logistics and leisure sectors.

Andy Williams

Andy has a wealth of experience in advising on all aspects of employment law, as well as both contentious and non-contentious pensions matters. Andy joined Stevens & Bolton as a partner in 2022. Prior to that he spent more than 20 years practising at two prominent City firms. He has a particular expertise in advising large corporates on significant workplace issues, such as reorganisations, TUPE transfers and making changes to staff terms and conditions. He also has significant experience of Employment Tribunal and High Court work, dealing with a broad range of contentious issues. Andy regularly negotiates severance packages both on behalf of, and when acting against, senior executives. This gives him a unique insight into how best to represent clients when litigation is possible or likely. In addition, Andy brings a breadth of experience on pension matters, both contentious and non-contentious. This includes providing pensions corporate support on share and asset sales and purchases, advising on the pensions aspects of outsourcing arrangements and advising employers and trustees on a variety of aspects of their defined benefit pension schemes. Andy's clients appreciate his ability to offer succinct, commercially focussed advice, whilst avoiding legalese and jargon. During her time with the firm, she has undertaken a secondment to a household name company in the automotive sector giving her invaluable insight into the need for lawyers to provide advice that is not only legally robust but also clear and practical. Angelica's expertise includes commercial contracts, data protection, insurance distribution, insurance regulation, advertising issues and consumer protection. She has worked with clients from various industries and her particular sector specialisms include insurance, retail, franchising and technology.

Astrid Arnold

Astrid provides legal support to the intellectual property and life sciences teams, keeping them up-to-date with developments in the fast-moving IP world. She coordinates the sharing of key legal developments with clients, through regular eBulletins, website content and training, and also assists with client work. Astrid trained at a City law firm. She qualified into the intellectual property practice there in 1988 where she enjoyed acting on a wide range of high profile transactional and litigious matters, primarily in the IP, media and technology fields. After eight years she moved to a teaching job at the University of Law for two years before returning to her original firm as a professional support lawyer. She moved to Stevens & Bolton in 2016. Astrid's work spans all areas of intellectual property. Recent projects have included developments in pharmaceutical patenting, trade mark filing strategies, the impact of EU copyright reforms, and how to protect trade secrets when employees move on. In the last few years, the question of how Brexit will affect right holders and business users of IP has, of course, been a continuing theme. Astrid writes widely on intellectual property topics. Azrah Ahmed

Azrah advises businesses on all areas of employment and immigration law. Azrah qualified as a solicitor in March 2023 and joined Stevens & Bolton in the same year, having trained at a large regional firm. Azrah's employment experience includes drafting contracts, employee handbooks and standalone policies, advising in relation to redundancies and employee exits and assisting with negotiating settlement agreement terms.
