MARR-JOHNSON & STEVENS - Key Persons
Oliver has worked in Central London residential property since 2007, and at Marr-Johnson & Stevens since 2012. He is a partner in the firm and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and RICS registered valuer and holds a Master of Arts degree in Property Investment and Finance. His principal focus is residential valuations in Prime Central London but he also carries out work elsewhere across the UK for larger cases or clients. The majority of his work comprises:
Formal RICS compliant ‘Red Book' valuations for Capital Gains and Inheritance Tax purposes and matrimonial disputes,
Pre-purchase valuations for HNW individuals, family offices and their advisors,
Leasehold Reform Act valuations and negotiations for enfranchisement of houses and blocks of flats, and lease extensions of individual flats, and
Landlord & Tenant valuations for consents to alterations, change of use and rent reviews.
Oliver also acts as an Expert Witness and has had recent successes acting for landlords and for tenants before the First-tier Tribunal (FTT) and defending an appeal to the Upper Tribunal.
Prior to taking his Masters, Oliver held a commission in the Grenadier Guards performing both operational and ceremonial duties, latterly serving in the Royal Household for two years as an Equerry to HRH the late Duke of Edinburgh.
Away from the office Oliver lives in Leicestershire with his wife and two daughters. He is a keen sportsman, Francophile and chef, and even perhaps an aspiring Master Chef contestant!
