DR. RUTH OLDEN

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Landscape Architect
Ruth graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with an MA in Landscape Architecture in 2010, and went on to work for Camlins in North Wales, and then Vogt Landscape Architects in Zurich, Switzerland. Ruth has also worked as a freelance journalist for the Landscape Institute journal. Ruth has a strong interest in ecological design, therapeutic design, heritage futures, and creative placemaking. Ruth has explored her landscape interests more deeply with a period in academia, and in 2016 she gained a PhD from the University of Glasgow. Ruth's strong links with academia continue to inspire her design practice and creative approaches to site and community engagement Ruth has taught at Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art, and the University of Glasgow. Ruth joined erz at the beginning of 2022.

Kevin Jones

Job Titles:

  • Landscape Architect
Kevin Jones is an Associate Landscape Architect with over 10 years experience in professional practice, joining erz in 2018. Kevin has previously worked as a self-employed Landscape Architect in Glasgow and at J&L Gibbons in London to an associate level. In addition to this he is also a visiting tutor at Edinburgh University's ESALA and has been a mentor on the Landscape Institute's Pathway to Chartership.

NICOLE MACIVER

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Landscape Architect
Nicole Joined erz at the beginning of 2021. After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2017 with an MSc in Landscape Architecture she spent three years post-graduation with a small award-winning practice in Bristol. Nicole has collaborated on a number of schemes, including various student and residential projects, schools and a mixed-use regeneration project with a strong focus on promoting health and wellbeing through effective use of planting and space making. With a passion for both wild and urban landscapes Nicole likes to draw on both when she is designing. She believes that everyone and everyplace should have access to valuable green space.

RHIANNON COWELL

Rhiannon studied architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and at the London Metropolitan

ROLF ROSCHER

Job Titles:
  • Director
Rolf founded erz Ltd in January 2007. Rolf has lived, worked and taught in Scotland, Oregon and Australia. He has been based in Glasgow since 1993. His built projects, including Glasgow's Hidden Gardens and the Concrete Garden in Possil won numerous design awards including Civic Trust Awards, Dynamic Places Awards and Scottish Design Awards. Award winning studies include our project at St Peter's Seminary in Cardross and the SAGE Strategy for Glasgow. He has extensive professional experience in design, strategy and research and a strongly collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to landscape design.

ROWAN ROSCHER

Job Titles:
  • Assistant Digital Content Creator & Admin Assistant
Rowan joined the erz team in the Summer of 2020 and is responsible for co-ordinating web content, including maintaining era's social media accounts, and providing administrative support. Rowan brings her various creative skills to the office to support the erz team. She is currently studying Art and Philosophy at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.

SACHA AIRLIE

Job Titles:
  • Studio Manager
Sacha joined erz in Spring 2019. She joins the team with extensive experience in finance, communications, project administration and management within the creative industries. Sacha has also worked with and facilitated a wide range of curatorial, educational and community projects over the years for organisations such as the Centre of Contemporary Arts, Talbot Rice Gallery, University of Glasgow, Glasgow Woman's Library, Glasgow School of Art and Rig Arts. Sacha's passions and expertise are focused towards providing support to innovative projects and organisations.

TAMSIN LEROUX

Tamsin joined the erz team in October 2021. She graduated with her Part 2 in architecture from the Glasgow School of Art after completing her undergraduate degree at UCD in Ireland. Tamsin has gained professional experience in both Dublin and Auckland, NZ Throughout her years of study and travel Tamsin interests developed in the overlap of the built and natural realms, focusing on sustainability whilst bringing dignifying design to the people of our communities. Research interests include permaculture, adaptive re-use and creating community spaces for storytelling through a range of spaces with different qualities.

TIANTIAN ZHENG

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Landscape Architect
Tiantian has also accrued valuable experience through practical engagements, including involvement in large-scale reconstruction projects and unique tourism planning endeavors in China's western Sichuan region. Her passion lies in urban landscape design that revolves around people, firmly believing that the convergence of the environment and human activities can give rise to unparalleled landscape effects. Studying in Scotland further piqued her interest in landscape planning for natural ecology, driving her to seek the inherent irreplaceability of natural existence within the context of humanities. She became a graduate landscape architect at erz in 2023.
