ASHLEY ANN - Key Persons

BETH BLAIR

Job Titles:
  • SHOWROOM MANAGER, ASHLEY ANN, EDINBURGH
For as long as I can remember I've been interested in design. No idea where it came from, as there's certainly no family influence - everyone else is a teacher! From an early age, though, I would dream up new layouts for the bedroom I shared with my sister. We'd work together to put my plans into action, but soon enough I'd be dreaming up an even better layout and the whole process would begin again. With so much practice from an early age, it's no surprise that I wanted to take things further, and I went on to continue my passion by studying Interior and Spatial Design at university. That soon led to a career in the industry, and it's hard to believe I've been working in my dream job for nearly a decade. I couldn't be happier than where I am now, working with my team to generate new ideas and create something beautiful and unique for each of our customers.

GEMMA MACKILLOP

Job Titles:
  • SHOWROOM MANAGER, ASHLEY ANN, ABERDEEN
Growing up in Caithness I've always been intrigued by the many wonderful but run down buildings scattered around the countryside, and used to dream about how I could make them into something beautiful and new. I've always been very creative, and from building my first playhouse with my mum and dad to helping them on various renovation projects, I came to love interior design work. I moved to Edinburgh at 18 to pursue my dream and qualified in 2003 as an Interior, Architectural and Spatial Designer. After nine years working in the industry I relocated and joined Ashley Ann.

Karen Aitken

Job Titles:
  • SHOWROOM MANAGER, ASHLEY ANN, North Berwick
Since qualifying as an Interior Designer in 2002, I've worked on both commercial and residential design projects within Scotland and England as well as several across Europe. Being creative I appreciate many styles but ultimately I love natural products made close to home and used in a modernist way that incorporate state of the art technology. The addition of a final classic piece provides the ultimate aesthetic pleasure and indulging in our Little Greene and Farrow & Ball paint colour match service elevates any design. Working with high quality sustainable products has always been a staple of mine and here at Ashley Ann an exquisite range of furniture for every room in your home from kitchen, bathroom, utility and home office to bedroom are all designed and manufactured in The Highlands of Scotland. I believe great design is how the space makes someone feel and at Ashley Ann you will feel a part of the design process from the start with the assurance that the product being supplied was made right here in Scotland. After joining the team at Ashley Ann, I have been able to combine my design and communication skills to create the ultimate desired solution to any space. I've learned not only the importance of good design that is aesthetically pleasing but also about tackling the technical practicalities to achieve the perfect environment to cope with a full range of activities, age groups and lifestyle. This is established through a visit to our showroom, a home survey and consultation where the most suitability of our vast range of product is discussed based on my clients expectations, personality, taste and lifestyle. For clients who wish to have additional assistance with the installation of their chosen design, I specialise in overseeing all trades - from start to finish, ensuring all is implemented as expected and that each stage of the project is brought in on budget. With over 15 years' designing bathrooms and kitchens and managing full rip-out and replace installations all parts of your build will be carried out to the highest standard. My technical knowledge is expansive so please do visit and let me know if I can help with any queries you may have on your interior projects. No job is too big or small!
