KP SIMPSON - Key Persons

Alex Hudson

Job Titles:
  • Office Manager
Biography As office manager, Alex is the eyes and ears of the office. Overlooking the whole business; ensuring deadlines are hit, accounts are completed and meetings are attended is all in a day's work for Alex. A part of KP Simpson for almost five years, Alex originally hoped to go into law, and trained as a barrister before hitting it off with accountancy - hardly surprising given his strong ability with maths and numbers. Having worked with Andy in a previous role with another accountancy firm, Alex left to further his own qualifications. Eventually this resulted in him running his own firm in Sunderland. But after six years on Wearside, Alex returned to working with Andy at KP Simpson - quickly leading to a full-time role. Summing up KP Simpson as a creative, efficient and friendly company, Alex is part of a team which he feels dispels the myth of the dull accountant with the pipe and pin-striped suit who you see but once a year, usually to hand you their bill!

Andrew Potts - Managing Director

Job Titles:
  • Managing Director
Biography Business owner and head honcho Andrew Potts has been with the company since its inception almost a decade ago. Born in South Shields, Andrew is the proud, smiling, friendly face at the head of KP Simpson. But don't go thinking it goes to his head - Andrew is somewhat of a dream boss, happily mucking in as part of the team, the thing which really sets KP Simpson apart from the competition. No grey suits here! Always keen to ensure that no client is ever treated badly, and that everyone receives a tailored service no matter what their tax or accountancy needs, Andy strives to manage accounts as well as he wields a cricket bat - something he's pretty good at; Andrew's a keen cricketer and regularly turns out for Whiteleas and Harton Welfare CC and is keen to support local teams / talents by sponsoring them in various ways.

Dawn Stott

Job Titles:
  • Tax Manager
Biography Tax manager Dawn is always on hand to manage the personal tax affairs of KP Simpson's clients. Dawn joined KP Simpson to avoid being seen as just another number at work, as was the case unfortunately in previous employment. KP Simpson's team-focused ethos was pretty much a perfect fit for Dawn, who fitted swimmingly into day-to-day life with KP Simpson. Team plays a big part in Dawn's busy working life with KP Simpson, and perhaps no time is busier than when upcoming tax and accountancy deadlines are incoming. Months like January are busy ones for Dawn, as she strives to ensure all clients' tax returns are submitted before the deadline of the 31st of the month - nevertheless, each and every customer is treated as an individual - as Dawn herself says, "there's not one size fits all, not at KP Simpson".
