Ian Sheppard

Ian joined Archibald Shaw as an Associate in February 2016 bringing with him over 20 years' experience in structural engineering gained with large multidiscipline consulting engineering practices. He has extensive analysis and design experience including 3D structural modelling and Building Information Modelling. Since becoming a Partner in the Newbury office he has developed his managerial skills and broadened his engineering knowledge and expertise.

Jon Lord

Jon has gained a wide range of experience in structural engineering design and analysis from working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy for over fifteen years. His experience includes design of structural elements in steel, concrete, timber and masonry on projects ranging from residential alterations and extensions to major commercial developments. Jon has also developed an aptitude for building defects diagnosis and remedial work specification. Jon frequently manages projects from conception stage, creating feasible structural schematics, undertaking analysis, detailed designs and tender documentation. Subject to project requirements, Jon will also oversee works during construction.

Neil Grinham

Neil has gained a wide range of experience in structural engineering whilst working for Consultant Civil and Structural Engineering practices in the UK. His experience varies from preparing general arrangement and detailed drawings at the start of his career, progressing to the design of structures and undertaking surveys of both domestic and commercial buildings. Neil has significant experience in the refurbishment of buildings including historic properties.

Neil Stanaway

Job Titles:

Neil has considerable experience in structural engineering design and analysis, having worked as a project engineer on many construction schemes, using both major and specialist construction methods and materials. His office-based experience includes multi-storey steel and timber-frame buildings, bridge assessments and computational analysis of complex structures.

Peter Willmott

Job Titles:

Peter has extensive and varied experience in structural engineering with consulting engineering practices. Initially this experience was gained on large projects in London and Liverpool, primarily in reinforced concrete design, followed by more wide-ranging experience in other materials including steelwork, load-bearing masonry and timber engineering. Since the mid-1970s Peter has developed an interest in work on historic structures and a focus on the education sector. Peter's experience has been gained mostly in the UK with a period in the West Indies on marina work.

Vincent Carpenter

Job Titles:

Vincent has gained extensive knowledge and experience over a wide range of civil engineering disciplines within the United Kingdom. His design experience lies mainly in the fields of drainage, highways, hard landscaping, foundation design, retaining structures and bridges. The majority of Vincent's site experience has been gained on flood alleviation, multi-storey car parks, housing and commercial developments, heavy reinforced concrete works, trunk road and motorway schemes. He also has significant contract administration experience.
