PHILLIPS FRITH - Key Persons

Amy Sole

Amy became a partner in the business in May 2020. She has been with Phillips Frith since 2003 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2008. Amy is an audit and corporate specialist dealing with some of the firms largest clients. Outside of the office she is a keen runner and member of Cornwall Athletics Club, competing locally, nationally and worldwide. "I have had the pleasure of knowing most of the clients I work with closely throughout my developing career in the firm and have been able to support them in the growth of their businesses. It is always satisfying to see the successes of our clients and provide advice or recommendations to hopefully assist them in making improvements or changes which may enable them to grow further."

Andrew Prouse

Andrew has been with us for over 25 years and is our most senior member of staff. His work centres around the more complex aspects of personal taxation and assisting small businesses. He has a reputation for being approachable and down to earth. "I recognise that the world of taxation and accounts can be intimidating, particularly for new businesses, and try to do all I can to demystify the process."

Anne Setchell MAAT

Anne joined us in 1998 straight after leaving college. She plays a key role in coordinating the accounts team and when she isn't doing this, she is busy helping clients with their record keeping and management accounts.

Gary Stocks

We were delighted to welcome Gary to the team in 2015. If there is a difficult piece of accountancy work to be completed then it will more often than not find its way onto Gary's desk where his patience and sense of humour are his great assets!

Ian Chalmers

Ian originally trained and qualified as an accountant with a firm in Cambridgeshire going on to join Phillips Frith in 1981 after relocating to Cornwall. He is a Partner of the business.

Jane Webb

Jane is a Partner of the business and has been with Phillips Frith for over 25 years. She has lived in Cornwall all her life. Jane works with many of the firm's charity and other more unusual audit and accounts clients where there are more complex rules to be followed. "Many of my early working years with the firm were spent out of the office auditing the accounts of companies of all sizes. I have always therefore believed in seeing at first-hand how a client's business operates so that I can give the best advice and this is true more than ever today."

Karen Morgan

Karen works within our Payroll Bureau here at Phillips Frith and will liaise closely with you on all aspects of your Payroll including employee tax codes, PAYE and National Insurance Contributions and of course the new pension auto-enrolment scheme. "I understand how time consuming running your payroll each month can be and that's why I'm here to help take as much of the stress away from you as possible. We work closely with you to ensure you comply with all the latest regulations and will help implement your own efficient payroll system to make life that little bit easier for you."

Pete Michael

Pete joined the firm in 1990 and is an invaluable assistant to Jane. He works on a range of corporate, personal and trust tax matters and has the unenviable task of keeping our tax and accounts software up to date.

Sarah Pope

Sarah has been with us for over 20 years. She specialises in work on solicitors accounts and spends much of her time visiting clients to assist them with a variety of work including more complex VAT and management accounts. "Within my role at Phillips Frith I enjoy working with clients both in and out of the office. Getting to know them and understanding their business so that I can tailor my assistance to suit their specific needs."

Sharon Fountain

If you visit our offices here in St. Austell, Sharon will probably be the first person you meet or the first person you speak to on the phone. She has been the Phillips Frith receptionist since 2002.
