Alan S Macdonald

Alan established Atelier-M in 2005, having graduated from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow. Alan has extensive experience in the residential sector, particularly with regard to regeneration and social housing. He also has experience with private housing, retail and shopfitting. His studies included an exchange to the University of Miami and also a Diploma in Urban Development from Strathclyde University. His combined studies have honed his interest in housing and social and economic regeneration. He was an elected committee member of Partick Housing Association for 3 years, chairing the Development Sub-Committee. Whilst at Anderson Bell + Christie Architects, Glasgow, for eight years, he worked on regeneration projects for Raploch and Paisley, along with various housing projects including Homes for the Future Phase 2 and The Terraces in Clydebank which received a Saltire Housing Recommendation award. Alan, as Director, focuses on client liaison from inception to completion, developing design quality and an innovative response to the client's brief.

Laura B Macdonald

Job Titles:

Laura joined Atelier-M as Director in 2007. Qualified since 1992, Laura has gained an extensive and varied professional experience within the retail and commercial sectors. She has worked for practices in Jersey and Glasgow, including 3D and Geoffrey Reid Architects, prior to moving to Perthshire. More recently, Laura has developed her experience working on residential projects within the private sector. As Director, Laura has been focusing on the office management and business development of the practice.
