Experience Abi joined Fishers in July 2022 and has gained experience in freehold sales, purchases and part-exchange transactions involving new build matters. Abi is friendly and approachable, as well as being highly organised, which is really useful when you're looking to buy your new home. Abi will assist with any queries and will ensure clients are fully comfortable with the legal aspects of their sale and purchase. Previously I completed my Bachelor's degree in History and Archaeology and my Master's degree in Museum Studies. I have recently converted to Law and enjoy how I can put into practice my previously acquired skills including the handling of old house deeds. One of the aspects of my role that I enjoy the most is helping people buy their dream homes. In my spare time I enjoy taking part in local amateur dramatic shows and socialising with family and friends.

Experience I have worked at Fishers for almost nine years. In the Dispute Resolution team I am the first point of call for old and new clients, dealing with telephone calls and internet enquiries, making appointments and advising clients of costings. Other tasks that fill my day are preparation of general correspondence and Court documents by post and via the Court portals, keeping client e-files up to date, providing administrative assistance to fee earners on business sales and purchases and on client matters generally. Before I joined Fishers I worked at a large East Midlands firm for seven years also in Dispute Resolution, also I have worked for one of the ‘big five' corporate firms in Johannesburg in Trademarks and Intellectual Property whilst spending some years in South Africa. My career began as a trainee at Roll-Royce Aero Engines in the Legal Department in Derby.

Charles Killin is a former Director of Fishers and is now a Consultant specialising in both contentious and non contentious company and commercial work. Experience Charles has a long standing reputation with local businesses and directors as well as land owners and farmers. He has extensive experience in the construction and mining sectors. He has advised on a range of partnership and business issues including mergers and acquisitions, hive offs and partnership dissolutions and de-mergers. As a litigator Charles has represented directors, non-executive directors and trustees in a range of disputes. He has made successful claims in connection with Interest Rate Hedging Products (IRHPs) and has succeeded in a range of successful claims for Professional Negligence and Breach of Fiduciary duties. Achievements Charles acted on the acquisition and a £96 million refinancing of a deep mine in South Yorkshire for private investors. He has advised on and worked in conjunction with a range of professionals on a Consented Clean Coal Gasification Project and continues to work for clients in this sector. Charles has advised on the successful demerger of a business partnership with minimal tax consequences. Charles also has extensive knowledge of the HS2 Project and its consequences for the locality. He has been involved in representations to and meetings with HS2 Limited and the Secretary of State.
