When I took early retirement after a career in IT, I started to help my son-in-law with his landscaping business. I set up the computers and learned the practicalities of book-keeping, invoicing and payroll. Three years later my son set up as a freelance writer and editor. I formed a limited company for him, opened a company bank account and learned the practical differences compared with being a sole trader. Now I have set up Papercrunch to share what I have learned, and hopefully to learn more from the community of people who run very small businesses.
