Adrienne Wallace

Adrienne joined Briffa firm in June 2001 having spent 7 years as a paralegal with an international Intellectual Property law firm. Previous to that Adrienne worked for many years for Rank Film Distributors in the international sales department. As Briffa's Office and Formalities Manager she undertakes a wide range of responsibilities including Marketing, IT, Web Development, HR, Events Management, Trade Mark, Design and Patent formalities having passed both the ITMA and CIPA formalities exams. In her spare time Adrienne is a keen amateur photographer. Adrienne is the firm's highly experienced Office and Formalities Manager.

Claire Lazenby

Claire Lazenby is a Queen Mary London University law graduate, where, inspired by Prof Jeremy Philips, founder of the IPKAT, she specialised in IP law. Now, 30 years on, she has had in-house experience with a major pharmaceutical company, and established her own one-woman-band UK practice in 2002, with particular expertise in mental health, financial services, university spin-outs, and start-ups. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, and has also served as UK Council Member for ECTA, the European Union NGO acting in the fields of trade marks and designs. She has represented ECTA and CITMA at proceedings before WIPO in Geneva, on the working of the International trade mark registration system. When not working (which actually isn't that often), her passion is ancient history. In particular, Alexander the Great and his conquest of Egypt. And she follows the work of Standing Voice, which is a charity for the support of people with albinism in Tanzania.

Daniel Crate

Dan helps clients resolve a wide range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. Dan enjoys helping creative clients maximise the value of their IP assets including their copyright, designs, trade marks and confidential information. Prior to joining Briffa, Dan worked at a firm in Surrey as a dispute resolution solicitor where he obtained significant experience assisting commercial clients of various sizes resolve disputes, including defamation and IP issues. As a result, Dan is well placed to understand the wider commercial implications of ensuring contracts are drafted appropriately to help protect his clients in the event disputes arise. He is a member of IPSoc (a society dedicated to junior IP practitioners). Outside of work he enjoys open water swimming, writing and live music.

He is also qualified to practice in England and Wales With a background working as in-house legal counsel for multinationals operating in Ireland, Mark can provide tailored, sensible advice to suit business needs. Mark holds certificates in trade mark law, commercial contracts and aviation leasing and finance from the Law Society of Ireland. He tutors trainee solicitors in the Law Society of Ireland in their business law module and he is a volunteer solicitor with FLAC, the Free Legal Advice Clinic. He has a keen interest in environmental and current affairs, outdoor pursuits, and is an avid reader, cook and gamer. Mark leads our Irish operations, advising clients on a range of intellectual property disputes and matters. Ramsay Monime

Ramsay's practice focuses on the resolution of intellectual property disputes. Other areas of expertise include resolving contractual disputes in the franchising, technology, and manufacturing sectors. In addition to having considerable litigation experience in the High Court (in both Queen's Bench and Chancery Divisions), Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, Ramsay has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution procedures including arbitration (both ad-hoc and institutional) and mediation. On a regular basis, Ramsay coordinates and manages clients' intellectual property and contractual disputes in jurisdictions outside of the UK with trusted local counsel. Examples include Australia, China, France, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, and New Zealand. William Miles

He joined Briffa in February 2018 from Morgan & Morgan Law firm in London, where he worked in a similar capacity as the Accountant for over 17 years up to October 2017. His experience also extended to the hospitality industry, where he worked with the Savoy Hotel, London and left them in March 1997 as the Management Accountant. Williams is dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and participate in many different sports and activities.
