Adrienne joined Briffa firm in June 2001 having spent 7 years as a paralegal with an international Intellectual Property law firm. Previous to that Adrienne worked for many years for Rank Film Distributors in the international sales department. As Briffa's Office and Formalities Manager she undertakes a wide range of responsibilities including Marketing, IT, Web Development, HR, Events Management, Trade Mark, Design and Patent formalities having passed both the ITMA and CIPA formalities exams. In her spare time Adrienne is a keen amateur photographer.
Adrienne is the firm's highly experienced Office and Formalities Manager.

Anastasia is a qualified solicitor who advises a broad range of intellectual property matters, including the protection, management and enforcement of copyright, designs and trade marks. She acts for clients in FMCG, fashion and design industries.
Cassine is a solicitor who practices all aspects of non-contentious and contentious intellectual property work. She is also a music producer and DJ with industry experience and has a particular interest in advising fellow artists, record labels, promoters, managers and DJs on their legal affairs.

Charlotte is a solicitor specialising in all areas of both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work, including copyright, trade marks, design rights and confidential information. She also deals with corporate and commercial matters, including advising on data protection, e-commerce and the production of a broad range of commercial contracts.
Claire Lazenby is a Queen Mary London University law graduate, where, inspired by Prof Jeremy Philips, founder of the IPKAT, she specialised in IP law. Now, 30 years on, she has had in-house experience with a major pharmaceutical company, and established her own one-woman-band UK practice in 2002, with particular expertise in mental health, financial services, university spin-outs, and start-ups. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, and has also served as UK Council Member for ECTA, the European Union NGO acting in the fields of trade marks and designs. She has represented ECTA and CITMA at proceedings before WIPO in Geneva, on the working of the International trade mark registration system.
When not working (which actually isn't that often), her passion is ancient history. In particular, Alexander the Great and his conquest of Egypt. And she follows the work of Standing Voice, which is a charity for the support of people with albinism in Tanzania.
Dan helps clients resolve a wide range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters.
Dan enjoys helping creative clients maximise the value of their IP assets including their copyright, designs, trade marks and confidential information.
Prior to joining Briffa, Dan worked at a firm in Surrey as a dispute resolution solicitor where he obtained significant experience assisting commercial clients of various sizes resolve disputes, including defamation and IP issues. As a result, Dan is well placed to understand the wider commercial implications of ensuring contracts are drafted appropriately to help protect his clients in the event disputes arise.
He is a member of IPSoc (a society dedicated to junior IP practitioners). Outside of work he enjoys open water swimming, writing and live music.

Gifty has extensive experience in global trade mark prosecution and enforcement matters, multi-jurisdictional trade mark clearances and portfolio management of FMCGs and SMEs.

Kayla joined Briffa in 2022 as an Accounts Assistant. Kayla's passion for Accounting and Finance stemmed for her love of numbers in secondary school which led her to graduating in Accounting and Finance. Kayla loves challenges and finding solutions and is looking to enhance all her skills and become a fully qualified accountant in due course.
When not crunching numbers Kayla in her spare time has been a competitive cheerleader and enjoys travelling, fitness and cooking.

Kemal has worked in the IP space for over 6 years now. His passion for IP stems from his keen interest in the intersection of technology and the law.
After completing his Law degree at the University of Southampton in 2016, Kemal worked in various roles, advising brands in the fashion, technology, sports, and manufacturing sectors on their Brand Protection strategies.
Kemal joined Briffa as a Trainee Solicitor in March 2023 and qualified in November 2023.
Laura joined Briffa in October 2021 as a Paralegal with a strong interest in intellectual property law, and has since qualified as a solicitor with the firm. She has a degree in Biochemistry and has recently graduated with a first in her LPC from the University of Law. Outside of work, she enjoys playing the piano and participating in the occasional yoga class.

Mark is a solicitor in Briffa's Irish office who advises on a breadth of intellectual property and commercial matters. He advises on issues relating to copyrights, trademarks, design rights, passing off disputes and the drafting of contracts and documents. He is also qualified to practice in England and Wales
With a background working as in-house legal counsel for multinationals operating in Ireland, Mark can provide tailored, sensible advice to suit business needs.
Mark holds certificates in trade mark law, commercial contracts and aviation leasing and finance from the Law Society of Ireland. He tutors trainee solicitors in the Law Society of Ireland in their business law module and he is a volunteer solicitor with FLAC, the Free Legal Advice Clinic.
He has a keen interest in environmental and current affairs, outdoor pursuits, and is an avid reader, cook and gamer.
Mark leads our Irish operations, advising clients on a range of intellectual property disputes and matters.
Mark was previously the in-house legal counsel for several multinational companies in Ireland. He's also an active Law Society of Ireland member and volunteers with the Free Legal Advice Clinic.

Ralph is a solicitor with 30 years of experience advising on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property and associated rights. He has achieved the status of ‘Recommended Lawyer' by the Legal500.
He has represented a wide variety of clients with infringement issues in various forums and is a staunch advocate of the Intellectual Property and Enterprise Court and its strict cost regime.
He has set up and successfully implemented and evolved anti-counterfeiting programmes tailored to meet clients' needs and budgets and, as part of that brought civil and criminal actions if and when appropriate.
Ramsay's practice focuses on the resolution of intellectual property disputes. Other areas of expertise include resolving contractual disputes in the franchising, technology, and manufacturing sectors.
In addition to having considerable litigation experience in the High Court (in both Queen's Bench and Chancery Divisions), Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, Ramsay has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution procedures including arbitration (both ad-hoc and institutional) and mediation.
On a regular basis, Ramsay coordinates and manages clients' intellectual property and contractual disputes in jurisdictions outside of the UK with trusted local counsel. Examples include Australia, China, France, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, and New Zealand.
Ramsay also has substantial expertise in implementing and executing anti-counterfeiting and piracy strategies for clients in the manufacturing, fashion and media sectors.
After completing his Law degree at Brunel University and the LPC at The University of Law, Saad joined Briffa as a Paralegal in October 2021 to pursue his ambition of a career in intellectual property law and has since qualified as a Solicitor with the firm. His passion for IP stems from his keen interest in sport, film and video games.

Sam is a Solicitor Advocate (Higher Rights Civil Proceedings), meaning that he is able to represent clients in the higher courts of England and Wales.
Shamina advises on a breadth of intellectual property matters covering both contentious and non-contentious issues relating to copyright, trade marks, design rights, and passing off disputes.
Shamina previously worked in the legal team at a travel/media start-up and enjoys advising clients on how to best protect and enforce their IP. She also deals with general commercial matters and can assist with drafting both simple and complex commercial agreements.

Stephanie completed her LLB degree at the University of South Africa in 2022. She has over 6 years' experience in the Intellectual Property Law field, having worked at various IP Law firms in South Africa prior to joining Briffa in the Office and Formalities department. She has a keen interest in current affairs, golf, and is an avid cook and online shopper.

William advises on a broad range of intellectual property and commercial matters with a particular focus on contentious work. He specialises in trade mark, design, copyright and passing off disputes but also has a great deal of experience managing large international trade mark portfolios and drafting complex commercial contracts.
He regularly prosecutes and defends matters at the UK Intellectual Property Office, EU Intellectual Property Office, Nominet Domain Name Registry, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and the High Court (Chancery Division). William also has significant experience with both arbitration and mediation.
William is a non-executive director of the British Footwear Association and acts as Briffa's liaison with a number of our affiliate trade associations, such as the Association of Illustrators and the Greetings Card Association.
William is a dual qualified solicitor (England & Wales and Ireland). He is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales, the Law Society of Ireland and the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA). He has been recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer' in the Legal500.
Williams is our Accounts Manager. He joined Briffa in February 2018 from Morgan & Morgan Law firm in London, where he worked in a similar capacity as the Accountant for over 17 years up to October 2017.
His experience also extended to the hospitality industry, where he worked with the Savoy Hotel, London and left them in March 1997 as the Management Accountant.

Éamon advises on intellectual property, data protection and commercial law matters. His clients operate in a diverse range of sectors and include authors and architects, designers and developers, photographers and publishers, and more.
He also advises industry leaders in various sectors, including fashion, finance and robotics. He has a particular interest in trade marks and branding strategy, data protection and privacy, complex commercial contracts, and problem-solving generally.
