MELANIE COWIE

Having nearly 20 years' experience working in the media, Melanie Cowie is a well-known freelance writer, PR and marketing consultant. Having initially started her career in radio, Melanie has worked on both sides of the media and has acquired excellent contacts in both broadcast and print. Through her role managing the sales and marketing of the National Marine Aquarium, Melanie ran a busy press office and an international marketing campaign - culminating in the ‘Sinking of HMS Scylla' an artificial reef off the Cornish coast. The marketing and PR of which reached an audience of tens of millions, across the globe. For the past 10 years, Melanie has used her experience to manage a cross-sector range of clients' campaigns as well as contribute regularly as a feature writer for a range of magazines and newspapers. Over this time, Melanie has become well known for her knowledge, skills and a thirst for knowledge. Over the past 5 years she has developed a highly successful social media system with MYKreative, handling a small, exclusive number of clients at any one time. Melanie's social media skills, combined with her writing skills and marketing knowledge have resulted in campaigns that are joined-up and have had proven results which are highly sought after. She works with several clients in Devon and Cornwall on a range of marketing initiatives from social media, blog writing, marketing and PR. She has been described as ‘a breath of fresh air' and often forms part of companies' marketing team.

MIKE HOLDEN

Mike has gained over 20 years' experience working in the demanding advertising industry. Employed as a graphic designer and a Creative Director of one of the area's leading and long-standing advertising agencies, Mike has been responsible for a range of clients with individual marketing budgets of in excess of £500,000 per year. These included the prestigious National Marine Aquarium, Theatre Royal Plymouth and the multi-store Fairway Furniture. He was responsible for the complete re-brand of the National Marine Aquarium, taking it from a small local tourism audience, to a truly global marketplace, opening up new funding opportunities from Government organisations, as well launching many new brands and products - again, nationally and internationally. Mike spent a short period in London working with a Packaging design agency whose clients included Adidas and McEwan's, before moving back to Plymouth, Devon. Today, Mike is Director of MYKreative in Plymouth which he has been operating successfully for over 5 years. His dedication and hands-on approach to every single account he looks after is second-to-none. He is results-driven and has gained an excellent reputation for his highly successful marketing and design campaigns across a varied business sector, locally, nationally and internationally.
