Caroline Harding

Caroline is Chief Executive of the Symphotech Group. Clients describe Caroline's strengths as having a unique ability to focus on what matters most, providing clear, insightful thinking and bringing high energy, candour, and consistency of delivery. Her expertise is underpinned by extensive risk management experience in events coupled with several decades as a senior leader, managing strategy, business development and transformational change across a range of sectors. Caroline is currently focused on guiding the Company through ambitious expansion plans, driving business strategy, while also ensuring projects deliver desired outcomes. Senior risk management roles across the industry shape an empathetic confidence, which is valuable when working with high level event clients as a safety and security consultant, alongside her senior team. Caroline is a Member of the Security Institute, a Technical Member of IOSH, and qualifications include the Advanced Diploma in Counter Terrorism Risk Management, NEBOSH General Certificate, Level 5 Crowd Management, Prince2 Project Management and Level 3 Safeguarding.

Claire Feeney

Job Titles:

Symphotech director, Claire is one of the company's secret weapons, working behind the scenes to manage the company finance and admin, also supporting operational logistics, procurement, marketing and strategic development. She ran the production office for the John Peel Stage for a number of years, designed accreditation systems and ran teams for large events. She also undertakes artist liaison for selected clientele. During 2020-21 Claire was instrumental in securing the company's financial position during the pandemic. She was the architect of Symphotech's Recover & Reopen project led by Eddy Grant delivering pro-bono advice to events industry stakeholders urgently seeking advice on Covid safety. Claire secured significant financial support for the business from the DCMS and Arts Council England's Culture Recovery Fund and is now part of the senior management team steering the company to a sustainable and exciting future.

Julian Spear

Julian is a co-founder and director of Symphotech. Retaining involvement in the strategic, production and technical arms of the business, he remains a key contact for many of the company's long-standing clients, a mentor for our Chief Executive and an unparalleled source of knowledge for many coming into the events and music sectors. A stalwart of the Glastonbury Festival management team for over 30 years, Julian successfully built and managed the Avalon stage before Michael Eavis asked him to establish and run "The New Tent" which would become the legendary John Peel Stage. Originally the company's production alead, Julian has been instrumental in building its specialisms in noise consultancy and orchestral sound design. Julian has a BA in Music from the renowned Dartington College of Music, a Level 5 University Diploma in Event Safety Management and is Tech IOSH accredited. Following an early career as a sound engineer for rock artists such as Dire Straits, A-ha and Level 42, and folk legends Edward II, Show of Hands and Wolfstone, he moved into production management in the early 90s.

Kirsty Care

Kirsty heads up our flagship division, Symphotech Safety. As Director of Safety Operations, Kirsty leads the team delivering event safety management at events and venues across the country. A seasoned event safety professional, Kirsty joined Symphotech in 2023 after a six month period in Saudi, advising and supporting the government to support national event safety professionals, and has hit the ground running in providing event safety to new clients Clipper Ventures for the Round the World Yacht Races and Tulleys Entertainment events, including the iconic ShocktoberFest. Kirsty brings energy, fresh perspectives and critical thinking to the division. Her collaborative style and attention to detail allow her to build strong client relationships, ensuring they are fully supported and sighted on the key issues, risks and opportunities.

Scott Leven

Job Titles:
  • Head of Film & TV Operations
Scott heads up our Film & TV Film division, Symphotech Film & TV Safety. Scott joined Symphotech in 2021 following a career with Merseyside Police, having been a lead Police Operational planner covering a huge range of protests, sporting events and events. As head of Film & TV Operations, Scott is working closely with Liverpool Film Office to deliver practical safety solutions that enhance the creative process. Since 2012, he has collaborated on hundreds of productions, providing Police support and advice, ensuring productions had the confidence to invest in the City Region, knowing Police support was guaranteed. Scott also pioneered the opening of the Police estate so that these buildings could be used as set locations. His career in an environment where dynamic risk assessment was a daily occurrence. This has now transitioned into providing event safety on numerous live events, including being part of the safety team delivering the inaugural Formula 1 race in Las Vegas. Scott has a Level 5 University Diploma in Event Safety Management and is Tech IOSH accredited.

Will Hodgson

Job Titles:
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Symphotech Group
Will Hodgson is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Symphotech Group. One of the original founders, Will's distinguished career with the Metropolitan Police included significant time in public order and responsibility for planning for major events such as Notting Hill Carnival. Strategic command and control systems developed by Will and his team are in use today across all large and difficult crowd management situations. Will has a Level 5 University Diploma in Event Safety Management and is Tech IOSH accredited.
