Bengt-Erik Löfgren first started working within the field of biomass combustion in Sweden in the 1970's. In 1984, realising that there was a growing need for an increase in technical understanding within the heating industry, he formed the consultancy company, ÄFAB, and began helping to raise awareness, particularly about wood combustion. 31 years later, ÄFAB has become one of the country's foremost, independent biomass advisory and combustion test facilities and a highly regarded source of expert knowledge.
Bengt-Erik is often asked to attend International Conferences to speak on the subject of Biomass Combustion and in recent years he has been a significant influence in the creation of IRETI (International Renewable Energy & Technology Institute) to assist with the required knowledge transfer of renewable energy heating systems between Europe,Canada and the USA.
