Adam Haslam

Adam joined Hardscape in September 2015 as Human Resource and Marketing Co-ordinator having graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston with a First Class degree in Business Studies in the summer of the same year. Adam had already completed a Placement with the company during 2013 and 2014 and so he had become familiar with most aspects of the business. His role is to assist in marketing support and offer additional help within our Human Resource department. Adam is a passionate Manchester United season ticket holder, loves swimming, cricket, going to the gym, travel and socialising with friends and family.

Alex Warren - Managing Director

In September 2022 Alex was appointed as the new Managing Director of the Hardscape Group. Having served as Operations Director since 2013, his involvement throughout the business and broad skill set, makes him the perfect choice to lead the Group into a new era, while continuing to embody the energy and passion Mathew instilled in every aspect of the business for decades. A law graduate, Alex originally joined Hardscape in 2002 as a Logistics Co-ordinator and having progressed internally through the ranks to General Manager in 2004, became Group Operations Director in 2013 responsible for directing and management of all matters of operations such as execution of orders and administration. Additionally, Alex is responsible for the Group's Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives including our duty and commitment to the net zero campaign. As well as being a family man, outside of Hardscape Alex is still a keen footballer, playing socially though these days. When time and weather also permit, he can be found hitting the slopes with his snowboard.

Alistair Taylor

Alistair joined Hardscape in August 2015 as Marketing Support with his main emphasis and role to build a comprehensive product image database and to further enhance and professionalise our project photographic portfolio. Alistair moved from London over 25 years ago and settled in the North West working for a Local Authority running groups and community workshops in photography and also music for people recovering from mental health illnesses and issues. Married with two teenage daughters, Alistair's pastimes include walking, cycling, listening to jazz and playing saxophone and flute. His passion for photography as a hobby also can quite often take him around his neighbourhood looking for old mills and disused warehouses to photograph.

Anne Corr

Anne joined Hardscape in Scotland as Sales Co-ordinator in February 2021. Anne has worked in customer services all her career but started out in the Civil Service as a Buyer for the purchasing of stationery goods. Prior to joining Hardscape, Anne was already dealing with construction products whilst working for an Industry-leading façades and timber-product solutions company in Edinburgh. In her spare time Anne loves spending time with her family and enjoys reading, knitting, sampling fine wines and Greek food and enjoying holidays abroad, especially Crete, which would be her favourite retirement destination!

Anthony Collins - VP of Sales

Anthony joined Hardscape as a Project Co-ordinator in 2004 whilst at University. After graduating in 2005 he joined the team full-time and became Logistics Manager. Towards the end of 2006 he moved into a sales position as North West Sales Manager and developed the role to greater success and accomplishment for the company. In August 2014 Anthony was promoted to UK Senior Sales Manager being directly responsible for all UK - North sales, managing his own area whilst overseeing and managing sales activities of the North of England and Scotland. In November 2019 Anthony was invited to join the Hardscape board as Sales Director responsible for the companies post tender sales functions and order intake. A keen golfer and Liverpool FC fan, Anthony shares the enthusiasm and vision that Hardscape has in consistently pushing boundaries within the hard landscaping industry to allow architects and clients alike achieve their ideal schemes.

Asil Besim

From a construction background, Asil joined Hardscape in March 2007 and is responsible for all technical matters relating to product sales and support to the national sales team including British and European Standards resource and information and specific product-related test data and CE marking information. He also manages sales for the London regional area.

Ben Bevan

Ben joined Hardscape in 2007 as Logistics Co-ordinator and swiftly moved to the position of Logistics Manager in early 2008. In 2012 Ben moved to a commercial role as Sales Support Manager responsible for overseeing initial customer enquiries, project managing the detailed components of schemes in liaison with the National sales team and overseeing procurement and logistical movement of materials. In June 2013 he moved into a full-on sales role covering Cheshire, West Midlands and North Wales. In March 2021 Ben became Senior Sales Manager and joined the Senior Management Team at Hardscape.

Charlotte Alderson

Charlotte graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BA Hons degree in Business Management in 2015 (2:1). With 5 years experience in the hospitality and service industry having always worked alongside her studying, she was ready to start her career, having particularly enjoyed the parts of her degree relating to Supply Chain and Logistics. Charlotte joined Hardscape in April 2016 as a Logistics Co-ordinator working within Hardscape's logistics team in the Bolton HQ. In August 2017 she became Assistant Logistics Manager and after 2 years in this role in August 2019 she became Logistics Manager. Her role focuses on overseeing the logistics team based in our Bolton HQ, and handling our international transportation of goods. She deals with the global shipping consignments and the day to day movement of goods to our customers throughout the UK. Charlotte and her team work hard to provide the best service possible, a detail at the core of Hardscape's ethics. They are responsible for managing projects throughout, from the moment they are placed, right up to completion, which is an integral part of the service that Hardscape provides. Outside of work Charlotte likes to socialise with friends and spend time with her family. She also likes to go to the gym and take her dog for walks. She loves to visit new places and explore different countries.

Daniel Moynihan

Daniel joined Hardscape in November 2021 as Project Co-ordinator working within the logistics team. He attained a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering at Hopwood Hall College in Rochdale in 2010 and has 7 years' experience working in logistics roles and sales in his earlier career. Daniel was also a chef for a few years and has since adopted a passion for tapas and Italian food! He's a keen Manchester United fan and loves taking his pet Dachshund, called Frank, for walks and loves socialising with friends.

Darren Roberts

Darren joined Hardscape in November 2017 to provide additional support to all things commercial within the business. As an experienced Manager much of Darren's focus is on bolstering the sales objectives and supporting Hardscape's continued growth through various business improvement initiatives. His accomplishments include a varied background focussing on people management, concrete technology, business reporting and development, specification sales, production management and more recently, commercial management of natural stone. As a modern man with a twist of the old school he's keen on wool suits, craft beers and beard products. A lover of nature and music, his ideal day off would include a morning walk with his daughter and crazy Labrador Finn, followed by a ride out into the countryside on his rarely used carbon road bike, maybe kayaking in the lakes or walking up a big hill. Less active days Darren would happily be indulging his love of photography and the natural world. As a fan of ‘proper music' he's always on the lookout for more vinyl to play on his vintage record player.

David Lowe

David graduated with an Applied Geology Degree at Leicester University in 1995 and after working in the Australian gold mining industry returned to the UK to join Hardscape in 2001. David is responsible for directing and management of all matters sales, working from Hardscape's Midlands offices near Stratford-upon-Avon. His interest and involvement in Geology continues through Hardscape's use of many natural stones from around the world. A keen amateur ornithologist, David has travelled globally in pursuit of rare and exotic species of birds insisting his pleasure may take him skyward from time to time but his passion for paving keeps his feet firmly on the ground.

Heather Annis

Heather joined Hardscape in July 2018 as a Sales Co-ordinator working from our Guild House offices in Stratford-upon-Avon. Following an early career in childcare and teaching assistant roles, Heather developed a strong sales administration background working in sales at a local newspaper and a subsequent engineering company. Heather is well equipped and thoroughly enjoys the demands of her role at Hardscape supporting project and sales administration tasks. In her spare time Heather loves baking and decorating cakes, gardening, dog walking and spending time with friends and family with occasional visits to her favourite Welsh holiday destination of Llandudno!

Jasmina Smajic

Jasmina joined Hardscape in August 2017 as Project Co-ordinator working within the logistics team. She graduated from the University of Salford in 2017 with a degree in English and Creative Writing. Yaz comes with a wealth of retail background experience having worked in some of the major high street stores. In her spare time Yaz attends her local gym, likes socialising with friends and really loves travelling. She has travelled through Western Europe a number of times before concluding the trip in Bosnia and Herzegovina - where her parents are originally from.

Joshua Stevenson

Josh joined Hardscape as a Trainee Project Co-ordinator in September 2017. Before this he has studied Engineering at Loughborough University for 2 years after leaving Holy Cross College in Bury, Lancashire with A-Levels in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Julie Haslam - Secretary

A graduate from the University of Hull, Julie was originally involved in Sales within the life and pensions industry. After a busy period at home with three young children under two, Julie joined Hardscape in September 1999. Having worked in a number of roles including marketing and accounts, Julie is now managing and developing Human Resources within the expanding Group. This is an integral part of the Hardscape vision as the company moves forward it is important that staff welfare training and progression are prioritised to maintain our great team and professional service levels. Outside work Julie loves swimming and travel.

Mathew Haslam - Founder

Mike Prince

A sports science graduate of Carnegie College, Leeds, Mike spent some of his early working life in health promotion and personal training roles in addition to representing Great Britain at Elite level Internationally in the sport of Triathlon, moving into the construction industry in 1996. After 12 years working in construction sales, he joined Hardscape in June 2008. Mike was particularly attracted by Hardscape's ethos of providing the best service possible and their ability to source a virtually unlimited range of products from around the world to meet the needs of both landscape architects and clients. Mike's aim is to make Hardscape the number one choice for hard landscaping products in Yorkshire, North East, East Midlands and East Anglia. Socially, Mike loves lifting weights and in August 2011 he won the 120kg weight category in the Great Britain Powerlifting Federation National Championships in Northumberland. In 2017 and 2018 Mike competed in the Natural Physique Association (performance-enhancing drug-free) bodybuilding competitions qualifying for and finishing in the top six in his category in the British finals.

Stephen Duce

Stephen joined Hardscape as Operations Manager in June 2022. He arrived at Hardscape with over 20 years' experience of People Management, Health & Safety, and Management Systems compliance, fitting in perfectly with the company's responsibility strategies for the future. Stephen is an affiliate of IOSH and has a NEBOSH Certification in Occupational Health and Safety, understanding the methods to improve and benefits of a strong Health and Safety culture. He cares passionately for the environment and has a personal mission to leave the planet in a better place for future generations. He particularly has an affinity for all animals and enjoys wildlife documentaries, walking with his family and dog, camping trips, and attending country shows. He also has a love of quizzes, and his specialist subjects include his love of 80's music, science fiction movies - especially Harry Potter, and the natural world.

TOM HASLAM

Tom started with Hardscape after graduating with a degree in Business from The University of Hull in July 2016. He started off in the role of Graduate Intern. The role was based from the warehouse and depot where Tom learned the processes involved in manufacturing and the logistics side of the business. After this Tom took a year out from work to travel the world to places like Thailand and Australasia. When he returned to the UK, Tom then took up the role of Project Co-ordinator in February 2018 working from Hardscape HQ. His role was supporting the sales team, involving organising orders and quotations. In January 2019 Tom took the opportunity to help grow the office in Edinburgh, joining up with Scotland Sales Manager, Wes Irving. Tom is now in his current role of Sales Co-ordinator (Scotland). In April 2021 Tom moved to London and became our London & South East Sales Manager supporting Asil Besim at our London offices, Warwick Way, Pimlico. In his spare time Tom enjoys going to the gym with an interest in bodybuilding and powerlifting. He also enjoys traveling any opportunity he gets!

Tomas Atkinson

Tomas joined Hardscape in August 2012 as a Design Co-ordinator having attended Leeds Metropolitan University from 2009 to 2012 where he studied a Construction Management degree graduating with a 2:1 BA (Hons). Tomas produces CAD drawings and schedules and other associated items, completing 2D production drawings, 3D modelling and visualisations. In November 2019 Tomas became Design Manager overseeing fellow Design Co-ordinators; Miles Dexter (Bolton HQ) and Nathan Jones (IP Surfaces). Additional duties have since included creating 3D print-outs to provide accurate scaled models to bring customers' ideas to life prior to manufacture and installation, managing the design team and improving and developing the companies' BIM capabilities in order to offer BIM components of Hardscape's products. Outside of work Tomas enjoys travelling, playing golf and socialising. In August 2018 Tomas took a year out and travelled to South East Asia and Australasia which brought about an expanded perspective of life developing a keen interest in various cultures whilst on his travels. Tomas has a keen interest in motorsport especially Moto GP and F1 and loves to watch British Super Bikes at Oulton Park as often as he can! Miles joined Hardscape in May 2021 as Design Co-ordinator working alongside our Design Manager, Tomas Atkinson, in our busy Design department. His role centres around the creation and completion of 2D production drawings, 3D modelling and visualisations, together with CAD drawings and schedules. Miles would describe himself as a multi-disciplined 3D Designer, experienced in furniture, interiors and urban landscapes. He enjoys collaborating and bringing projects to life and is just as contented producing technical drawing packs as he is creating concepts with models and CGI's. In his spare time Miles follows his beloved football team, Manchester City, and is a keen Formula 1 fan too. His other interests include world architecture and good 3d dimensional design which he believes can enhance our lives and the environment around us.

Wes Irving

Leaving school and being creative minded, Wes Studied Interior Design at Glasgow College of Building and Printing achieving an HND. Throughout this journey Wes had part-time jobs in various retail sales environments which meant he had to communicate with the public. Leaving college Wes became a salesperson working for a large taxi supplier who supplied private/hackney vehicles nationwide before moving on to selling and supplying performance cars. After 16 years of motor trade experience Wes decided in 2016 that he wanted a fresh challenge and decided to enter the construction industry with a job as an area Sales Manager, supplying walling and cast stone materials. When the opportunity came to work for Hardscape it was too good a chance to miss out on. So, on the 1st of December 2020 Wes joined as Hardscape's Scottish Regional Sales Manager. This has now allowed him to enter the paving world and supply natural stone from all over the world and assist landscape architects and urban designers with material specification of exciting projects throughout Scotland. With Scotland being a great country to explore, in his spare time, Wes loves biking, kayaking, hillwalking and playing golf at many of the prestigious courses throughout Scotland.
