Founded in 1951, the British-German Association is a British charity that promotes mutual understanding and friendship between the UK and Germany... The BGA works closely with British and German Parliamentary Groups and Committees to encourage them to engage with each other. We encourage individual British Parliamentarians to take a closer interest in Germany. We also work with Government Departments and with the devolved regions on relevant policy issues... The BGA promotes the teaching of the German language in British secondary schools. Membership of our "Youthbridge" programme is free for any secondary school teaching German, and currently attracts over 500 schools. Youthbridge schools receive free access to our online events, podcasts and newsletter. We provide advice on offering school trips and exchanges.
