During a varied career in HR, running a Management Consultancy, and volunteering for a local Citizen's Advice Bureau, obtaining a Psychology degree from the Open University along the way, I became fascinated by acupuncture after it proved very successful in helping my children cope with and recover from various childhood illnesses. This eventually led me to train professionally at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine where I undertook a 3.5 year course covering both Western and Eastern medicine, graduating in 2005 with an Honours Degree in Acupuncture from Portsmouth University. My dissertation was based on research into the efficacy of acupuncture in the alleviation of hot flushes... I regularly attend conferences and courses to continue my professional development, such as ‘acupuncture in palliative care', ‘acupuncture in fertility / IVF / pregnancy and childbirth', and cancer education programmes...
