Eileen Bainbridge - Founder

Eileen Bainbridge founder of Pronotes is an experienced Manual Notetaker, registered with NRCPD (National Registers of Communications Professionals Working With Deaf and Deafblind People) since it began in 2008. Eileen started work at the City lit in the Deaf Services Team in 1995, Notetaking for students in Further and Higher Education. Eileen became freelance in 1999 after recognising a gap in Notetaking provision within employment. Moving forwards in her career Eileen has always kept herself informed. Issues which relate to Deaf people and her profession are on her radar; including the Equality Act and Access to Work. Eileen is continually updating her skills. In addition to a degree in Women's Studies and Development Studies, Eileen has a certificate in conflict management and a Teaching qualification. She passed BSL (British Sign Language) Stage 3 in July 2011 and regularly does communication support work for Deaf people on a 1 -1 basis. She has completed part 1 of the stage 6 BSL course. She is currently a member of the Association of Notetaking Professionals (ANP). Eileen regularly works with a variety of communication professionals such as BSL interpreters, Lip speakers, STTRs (Speech to Text reporters), Palantypists, Electronic Notetakers and other Manual notetakers. Eileen has built up a database of contacts over the years; this is the foundation of pronotes and Eileen would be happy to connect you with other Language professionals.
