Dr Jason Davies

Jason is a Consultant Forensic and Clinical Psychologist working within a rehabilitation and low secure mental health setting within the NHS and an Honorary Professor of Forensic Clinical Psychology with Cardiff Metropolitan University. He has previously worked in specialist Personality Disorder Services and has worked in high and medium forensic mental health settings. He worked as a university lecturer and currently holds a number of honorary academic and research appointments. Jason is trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and has a great deal of experience of using and training others in formulation, individual treatment in forensic settings, risk assessment and management and motivational interviewing approaches. He has a recovery orientation to his clinical practice. Jason has worked as a senior practitioner / manager within the NHS and has been involved in and led a range of service developments. He has provided clinical supervision to nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists and OT's and research supervision at project, degree, masters and doctoral levels. Jason has co-edited a book: ‘Research in Practice for Forensic Professionals'; has a book due for publication in January 2015: ‘Supervision for Forensic Professionals'; has written a number of book chapters, journal articles and other publications and has given conference papers and invited workshops nationally and internationally.

Dr Susie Black

Susie is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health Professions Council. She qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2000. She completed an undergraduate degree at Surrey University in 1995, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Sheffield University in 2000. She has worked in the NHS since 1995. Her particular interests are in working with adults suffering from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and difficulties in making and maintaining relationships. As well as being an experienced Clinical Psychologist, Susie is a Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner accredited by the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapists (ACAT). Susie's approach to therapy is likely to involve work on the development of an understanding of the roots of people's difficulties and problems, as part of a focus on understanding current difficulties. Susie is an experienced practitioner, trainer and supervisor. She can offer supervision using the CAT framework and is working towards supervisor accreditation. Susie is experienced in offering social problem solving therapy to groups, and is an experienced Stop and Think: Social Problem Solving Therapy trainer. She offered treatment groups as part of the LANDSCAPED project for people diagnosed with personality disorder.
