Karen Rogan has worked in secondary education in Merseyside for over 30 years in a wide variety of teaching and managerial roles. Over the past five years she has worked in Secondary ITE as PGCE English Course Leader and as Head of Secondary/School Direct Secondary Lead for PGCE at Liverpool Hope University. She has an MA in Educational Practice and has presented at a range of educational conferences for BERA and TEAN. Prior to this she was a Head of English, Local authority English Consultant and Assistant Principal. In these roles she contributed to a wide range of school improvement initiatives focusing on assessment, curriculum planning, literacy and English and their role in procuring positive Ofsted outcomes. She has recently set up her own educational consultancy and continues to support schools and Initial Teacher Training, as well as offering tuition and communication support to private clients. She is a trustee of the ADHD Foundation in Liverpool and is committed to raising awareness of neuro-disabilities and associated barriers to learning and, as a trustee governor at Rainford Multi-academy Trust, she serves on the Curriculum and Attainment and Audit Committees.

Martin has had 25 years experience in education and 7 years as a Secondary Headteacher working in challenging secondary schools. Since leaving headship, Martin has successfully built up a Leadership Coaching and Mentoring business that operated in the United States. He currently works for the Youth Federation as an Operations Director and Designated Safeguarding Officer and also works for Achievement for All as an Achievement Coach. Martin has been a National Trainer for Early Support and Parental/Carer Engagement Strategies. Martin has worked internationally with the Parent/Carer Engagement strategy by supporting the New York City Parental Engagement development. Martin supported theDfE in the role out of the 2014 Children and Families Act. As an Achievement Coach, Martin is responsible for coaching ten schools in England and Wales around the SEND progress agenda. As a founding member of two Academy chains, Martin is passionate about education and achievement of young people. Martin also works to support the skills development in cyber security to fill the skills deficit in the NW. As a result of this work, Martin was appointed as the North West Ambassador for the Information Assurance and Advisory Council in the U.K.

Michael McLachlan

Michael recently retired as the owner and director of Beacon Education Consultants Ltd. His educational career since 1972 includes working in primary and secondary secondary sectors in five different LEAs as teacher, Head of Mathematics, LEA Mathematics Advisory Teacher, LEA Mathematics, Assessment and School Leadership Advisor and LEA Senior Inspector for Secondary Schools, Adult Education and Youth Services. At the establishment of OFSTED he qualified as a Registered Inspector and later an Additional Inspector leading and supporting on inspections in primary and secondary schools across the country. He has been a School Improvement Partner and National Challenge Adviser and involved in Mathematics Education at a national level during the development of the National Curriculum and as a member of the executive of the National Association of Mathematics Advisers and Inspectors. He has published mathematical support materials and developed LEA handbooks on School Self Evaluation and Staff Development. As an Independent Consultant since 2003 he has provided training to inspectors, governors, headteachers, middle leaders and teachers in primary and secondary schools. His particular areas of expertise include school inspection and self evaluation, leadership and management, teaching and learning, assessment and interpreting performance data and mathematics education.

Michelle is a qualified accountant, having qualified with Grant Thornton, Chartered Accountants in The Liver Buildings, Liverpool, for the first 10 years of her career. In her time at Grant Thornton, Michelle had a broad range of clients including Plc's, a variety of medium sized owner managed businesses, Motor retailers, Charitable organisations and Pension schemes. Michelle entered the Education Sector in 2005 as Finance manager of a local college and was quickly promoted to Finance director in January 2006. She has successfully steered the college through a £27m New Build timely and within budget. Following a restructure in 2007 Michelle on a wider role to Deputy Principal Finance & Resources. More recently, in August 2017, Michelle has led the college through a merger of two colleges. Michelle's role now includes strategic responsibility for Finance, facilities and operations, Health & Safety, Information technology, Management Information Systems and Human Resources and manages the £20m+ budget successfully for the organisation despite funding restraints.

Rupert is a Solicitor, Notary and Chartered secretary with 40 + years of commercial board-level experience in a wide range of organisations in the legal and accountancy, logistics, manufacturing and services sectors. His expertise has been gained in the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia. He has extensive Experience in Corporate Governance, Compliance, Mergers and acquisitions and risk management. Rupert is a Rainford parish Councillor and from 2012-2016 was a St Helens Borough Councillor. He chairs the greater Manchester Mental Health NHS foundation trust and is a Director of Eddie Stobart Logistics and Needlesmart, a Knowsley based medical technology company. He has served as a Governor of the school since 2012, was one of the founding members of the Rainford Academies Trust and is now the Chair of Trustees.
