SIAU provides a free service to people on low income and who would have qualified financially for Legal Help (previously known as Legal Aid). Most immigration law matters were taken out of the scope of Legal Help in April 2013. Where people's income or savings are too high to qualify for Legal Help, we work on a cost recovery basis, meaning we charge a fee to cover our costs for representation only; we do not make any profit. We do not charge for advice. We aim to provide a competent, well-informed and friendly service.
