Richard Robinson

Richard Robinson B.A.(Hons), C.Eng, CITP, MBCS graduated in 1990 with an Honours Degree in Business Computing. Modules included Systems Management, Database Analysis and Design, Behavioural Studies and Quantitative Methods. Much of this course was both ahead of its time and very practical in nature, providing the perfect foundations for a career in IT spreading over the next three decades. After joining the graduate scheme of a UK consultancy Richard then joined a pioneering Direct Insurer and was heavily involved in creating the policy administration system for a new sister company, to which he later transferred. In 1996 Richard joined the HUON Corporation, initially as a developer but progressing to Development manager, Application Architect and eventually Chief Technology Officer. Through this role Richard worked in London, Toronto, Hartford and Melbourne and supported clients on five continents. Following the acquisition of the HUON Corporation by the Innovation Group, Richard became SVP of Release Management, responsible for internal and external releases of all software solutions. This included programme managing changes to multiple products over multiple technical platforms and working closely with clients across the globe to identify and prioritise requirements. In 2007 Richard founded Exploiting Technology as a vehicle for providing consultancy, primarily to a number of mainframe sites.
