Ben Coles

Job Titles:
  • Senior Urban Forest Consultant
Ben has worked in urban forestry for over 20 years. He has been a Contractor, a Tree Officer and an Arboriculturist in the private, public and charity sectors. He is a Tree Warden in Torbay and a passionate advocate for promoting the benefits of trees and their sustainable management, having spoken at multiple events about urban trees and ash dieback. When Ben's head is not in the trees, he can be found exploring the South West countryside or immersed in water… swimming or surfing!

Catherine Vaughan-Johncey

Job Titles:
  • Urban Forest Technician
Catherine is one of Treeconomics' Urban Forest Technicians, and joined us after graduating with a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Physical Earth Science from the University of Swansea. She has always been fascinated with the natural world, and this led her to founding the Swansea University Geological Society whilst still a student. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys hiking and playing hockey. She also likes fossil hunting and exploring the beaches and clifftops of the South West.

Cecil Konijnendijk

Job Titles:
  • Associate - Consultant
Cecil is one of the world's leading experts in urban forestry. He works internationally in an advisory capacity and significantly strengthens Treeconomics' resource base. Cecil has advised international organisations, as well as national and local governments, on the development of urban forestry strategies. He has a special interest in the social and cultural values of urban forests, and in connecting people with the places where they live.

Danielle Hill

Job Titles:
  • Senior Urban Forest Consultant
Danielle Hill Senior Urban Forest Consultant Danni studied Environmental Science at Plymouth University, after which she pursued a career in teaching. Danni very much enjoys working with clients, particularly on bespoke projects. She delivers first-class i-Tree training and has designed some excellent bespoke public-facing documentation. In her spare time, Danni is a keen runner and enjoys exploring the coast of Devon and Cornwall. danielle@treeconomics.co.uk

Dave Partridge

Job Titles:
  • GIS Consultant
Dave has over 25 years' experience with mapping and GIS. He holds a BSc in Surveying & Mapping Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in GIS & Environment. He is a qualified Chartered Land Surveyor, and has worked with protected landscapes, including 13 years at Dartmoor National Park Authority and, latterly, the National Trust. In his spare time, Dave is trying to become a better gardener and his next project will be constructing a polytunnel to extend the growing season.

Dougal Scott - COO

Job Titles:
  • Chief Operations Officer
Dougal has over 30 years' experience in commercial strategy and business transformation. He spent a decade working for an international strategy consultancy before taking a number of senior roles wth large corporate organisations. Dougal now specialises in business growth, with a special interest in the technology sector. He enjoys sailing, and cycling around the Devon lanes.

Harry Munt

Job Titles:
  • Urban Forest Technician
Harry graduated with a BSc in Geography from the University of Manchester and the Australian National University, and is a graduate of the Centre for Alternative Technology, where he gained an MSc in Sustainability and Adaptation. Harry is involved in local politics and his hobbies include playing squash, beekeeping near his home in Somerset, and camping with friends around the UK.

Johan Östberg

Job Titles:
  • Associate Professor
  • Associate - Projects Manager ( Scandinavia )
Johan is an associate professor in landscape architecture. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and Arborist Municipal Specialist, is VETCert certified, and is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. Johan is co-owner of The Tree Office (Trädkontoret AB) and works mainly in project management and tree assessment. He is our Swedish associate, and takes care of all projects in the Scandinavian Eurozone.

John Rose

Job Titles:
  • Senior Urban Forest Consultant
John brings experience from well outside the world of trees, coming to us from the worlds of business and marketing. John believes that urban forestry has to move from being a powerful idea to a self-evident reality for everyone that lives in our towns and cities. When not talking about trees, John winds down by trail running and, when life allows, skiing.

Keith Sacre - Founder

Keith has over 20 years' experience in local government as an Arboriculture & Urban Forest Director. He is currently a Director of Barcham Trees, the largest container tree nursery in Europe. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and is a Chartered Arboriculturist. He has an MSc in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry, a BSc in Social Science and a BSc in Arboriculture. Keith is currently a trustee of the Arboricultural Association and also of the Trees and Design Action Group (TDAG).

Kenton Rogers - Founder

Kenton is a Chartered Urban Forester and Environmentalist with a masters degree in Forest Ecosystem Management. He has worked on a range of commercial, urban and community forestry projects in the UK, Europe and North Africa. Kenton was a Trustee of the International Tree Foundation and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He has written for the UK National Ecosystem Assessment and the Springer Handbook of Urban Forests, and most recently co-authored the Haynes Workshop Manual for Trees.

Nadine Moreby

Job Titles:
  • Marketing & Events Coordinator
Want to know what's going on? Ask Nadine! She oversees the company's administrative processes, and also looks after our marketing and events. If you want to know about an event we're running, she's your woman! In her spare time, Nadine loves swimming, practicing yoga, and is fascinated with people and what makes them tick. She has a friendly pet snake called Noodle and loves monkey puzzles.

Sir Harry Studholme - Chairman

Job Titles:
  • Chairman
Sir Harry has owned and managed forests in South West England for over 20 years. He has been GB Forestry Commissioner and Chair of the Forestry Commission. He has been Chairman of the South West Regional Development Agency, and chaired the Phaunos Timber Fund. He is an honorary professor of the College of Social Sciences and International Studies at Exeter University, researching forestry in the British Isles and the impact of tree disease.
