Alison Hutt MAAT

Alison joined Maughan Mitchell in February 2021. Prior to that she pursued a career working in private practice for a regional firm of accountants where she qualified as a Certified Accountant. Alison brings with her 10 years of accountancy experience and is responsible for running our accounts department and dealing with all matters relating to finance at Maughan Mitchell. She oversees the administration of client held money, maintains service charge accounts in relation to a number of the commercial buildings we manage on behalf of clients, issues rent demands and handles debt management. Outside of work Alison enjoys swimming, walking and, as a busy mum, spending as much time as possible with her two young children and husband. Any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Amy Deaney

Amy joined Maughan Mitchell in June 2022 after working as a qualified MRICS Chartered Surveyor at Altus Group for the last 12 years. She specialises in providing business rates and commercial lease consultancy advice to both owners and occupiers of commercial property. Amy is excited to start the next chapter of her professional career by joining Maughan Mitchell. She loves the varied nature of working as a Chartered Surveyor, from advising large property funds to small one-off occupiers. Outside of work, Amy is kept busy with her two young children. She also enjoys going to the theatre and good restaurants with her husband, and the odd cocktail or two with friends.

Chris Mitchell

Chris Mitchell has over 30 years' experience as a qualified general practice chartered surveyor acting for a broad range of clients with particular focus on commercial landlord and tenant work along the south coast M27 corridor. In 1991, after a spell working in London, Chris formed his own Southampton based practice, Holland Mitchell, which was eventually incorporated into Lambert Smith Hampton, a large national surveying firm. During the period 2006 to 2009 Chris headed up the professional department for the south coast office of Lambert Smith Hampton where he dealt with a number of substantial and complex landlord and tenant matters and also sat on the national lease advisory panel for the firm. He joined Maughan Mitchell at the beginning of 2010 where he continues to provide landlord and tenant, acquisition and asset management advice. Outside of work Chris enjoys playing tennis aswell as the occasional 5-a-side football along with some similarly long in the tooth players! He is also a long suffering supporter of Southampton FC.

Simon Maughan

Maughan Mitchell celebrated 30 years in 2022, having been established in 1992 by Simon Maughan with Chris Mitchell joining in 2010, from Lambert Smith Hampton, bringing expertise in Lease Advice and Property Management. Chris had previously been a founding partner in Holland Mitchell, which LSH acquired. In October 2019 the existing team was strengthened, with Chris Sullivan joining from Altus Group (previously Edwin Hill), bringing with him over 20 years' experience in Business Rates and Landlord and Tenant matters. Simon commenced his career in private practice undertaking landlord and tenant work, prior to becoming Director of a Bristol based property investment company. In 1992 he created ‘Simon Maughan & Associates', an independent firm serving owners and occupiers of commercial property in lease advisory and acquisition but with an increasing focus on business rates issues. He had a brief spell in 2008/09 heading Lambert Smith Hampton's South Coast rating division, prior to opting to revert to independent status and forming the current Practice of ‘Maughan Mitchell'. Simon is now considered one of the foremost rating surveyors in the region with considerable expertise gained over many years of practice in this sector and having successfully dealt with some very substantial cases. Simon is a keen cyclist and recently completed a Lands End to John O Groats trip. He also enjoys the odd pint of real ale and supporting Bristol rugby club.
