Gerald Hogg has 20 years of professional advisory experience. He began his career with Ernst and Young in the Economics Practice where he worked with UK and European institutions on assessing the effectiveness of regional and industrial support programmes, as well as the competitiveness of European industry. He then moved to the Strategy practice working with clients in Automotive, Financial Services and Consumer goods, focusing on developing business unit strategy, growth, and multi-channel go-to-market strategies. He left Ernst & Young to participate and lead in a series of ventures, eventually managing the turnaround of a publishing software house in the UK during the 2001-3 downturn. More recently, since 2003 he has built an independent consulting practice and partnered to deliver a number of engagements in sectors including Defence and Aerospace. These have involved working on the industry side on logistics and support transformation programmes in Air, working with IT systems and services companies operating in Defence and National Security . He has also worked on the ‘Customer' side, for example, on the market and industry analysis of for the Defence Industrial Strategy, and working with the RAF on a review of a key support services programme. At the same time, he has continued to serve customers in the retail and consumer goods sectors working with marketing executives to develop new propositions, develop pricing and channel strategies. This work has enabled him to keep abreast of the latest management tools in fast moving customer-centric marketing environments. He is an expert in Brands and quantifying brand value in both B2C and B2B markets and also an expert in managing the performance of large portfolios of brands and products through the life cycle. Gerald is primarily responsible for business operations and managing the delivery of our output-based assignments and associates. He also leads our consulting work in consumer goods sectors. Gerard has over 20 years management consultancy experience focussed on strategy and major procurement projects. He has advised on multi-billion pound public private partnerships acting on behalf of the government to evaluate bids and prepare investment cases to the Treasury

Tim Cross retired from the British Army after 36 years Service. He commanded the largest division of the Field Army, led the mixed Military/Industry Implementation Team of the Defence wide End-to-End Logistic Review and was a Board Member of the multi-billion pound Defence Logistic Organisation. Find out more An experienced EOD/IED operator, with a Masters Degree in Guided Weapons, he served in Paris on the MILAN anti-tank programme. His operational experience includes deployments as an ATO in Northern Ireland, the Gulf in 1990/91 and 2003, and the Balkans in 1995, 1997 and 1999. He was appointed CBE in the Kosovo operational awards list in 2000, and deployed to Washington, Kuwait and Baghdad as the International Deputy in the US led Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Affairs, later re-titled the Coalition Provisional Authority in 2002/03. Having worked closely with Industry in his time as the Director General of the Defence Supply Chain, he is now also a trustee of the Leadership Trust Foundation which works with a number of industries, a Director of an International Aid Organisation and a Visiting Professor at Nottingham and Cranfield Universities - having had a number of articles and book chapters published. He is also the current Army Adviser to the House of Commons Defence Committee. Tim Cross CBE forms an essential part of the SC Skills team and has a key role in providing customer insight to clients as well as helping to grow the business successfully.
