Caroline Rochford founded Heir Line Ltd in 2009 with Michael. She is a professional genealogist, writer and graphic designer.
Caroline enjoys discovering long lost stories from the past. She writes non-fiction history books about the quirky and fascinating discoveries she's made during her career as a professional family historian.
When she's not working on history books, Caroline writes family history reports for clients. She also designs stunning, ready-to-frame family trees.
Caroline has a first class degree in Graphic Arts and Design. She also designs Family History Storybooks and can restore old and damaged photographs, turning black and white or sepia photographs to colour!
Caroline is three quarters English and a quarter Welsh. She has some fascinating Yorkshire ancestors in her family tree, including sea captains who had countless stories to tell about life on the high seas.

The process is very straightforward, paying online for a five hour block of research at what we feel is an affordable rate and good value. Michael is extremely diligent and has been able to answer our many queries along the way to our complete satisfaction, or to give us pause to reflect. By discovering that our earliest traceable ancestor was not married to the lady we thought he has explained why it is many of us have carried a further surname in our forenames. I am descended from the Boocock's of Yorkshire. I contracted Heir Line to help me expand upon the knowledge I already had. The journey has been most interesting and I cannot believe how much I've discovered. Michael has been able to find out interesting details and context which have made my ancestors seem very real. He describes their professions, the places they lived, and produces documentation of his efforts. It has made me curious for more and i can't wait to walk the streets where my great greats once walked. Caroline has restored some of the photographs that have been stored in drawers for decades. Michael J. Rochford is Heir Line's senior professional genealogist. He is a young, fast, thorough, dedicated and experienced family tree researcher. Michael has an incredible eye for detail and he knows exactly where to look even when others have failed.
Throughout his family history career, he has made fascinating findings that would otherwise have been forgotten. Michael writes history books about his amazing discoveries. Michael is three quarters English and a quarter Irish. Michael's grandfather, Paddy Rochford, was a Third Battalion Coldstream Guardsman who joined the army at the age of eight. Before WWII, he guarded the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Tower of London and the Bank of England. He then went to fight at the battle of El Alamein, finally becoming a close personal friend of Colonel Gamal Nasser, President of Egypt. Paddy's incredible story is out now!

All bound up in a well-presented book to be treasured as a keepsake & passed on to the next generation interested in their genealogy. Sadly no one of note was uncovered although an unresolved family connection was solved! Highly recommend, excellent service!
I live in the United States and almost five years ago I asked Michael to help me discover and understand my paternal family's roots in Yorkshire. It's been a wonderful voyage of discovery, exceeding all expectations, and I highly recommend Michael to anyone searching for their roots in England. He has incredible knowledge of Yorkshire/Lancashire history and geography, and explains his findings promptly in wonderfully colorful language. His instincts allow him to see beneath the record itself to understand the hidden meaning or surprising explanation for things that happened 200, 300 or more years ago, insights that I could never have appreciated on my own. Many times I thought we'd hit a dead end, but Michael somehow finds a new source, or makes a brilliant new connection, to take us around the roadblock. My immigrant ancestor left Yorkshire in 1832, and his family and times prior to leaving his home, once lost to me and all his US descendants, have come to life in ways I would not have dreamed possible. Michael's a treasure - contact him, you won't regret it.
100% recommend. Great communication throughout the process and the report was amazing. Finding out more about my ancestors, the jobs they had, where they lived etc etc made me feel really connected to my past. Reading the biographical notes, made me feel happy, sad and proud all at the same time, and there was a few tears. Very happy with the service that Michael has completed and I honestly can't believe the work that was put in and presented to me in the end which I was totally blown away with. I can't recommend Micheal and his team enough for anyone wanting to have their family tree researched. I thought I was just buying my husband his family tree for our 25th wedding anniversary. But what we got was far beyond my expectations. Such a comprehensive report into our family history. Some of which for us was utterly jaw dropping. The team's dedication and time spent on the finest details were outstanding. All throughout the process I was given regular updates into how the research was developing. Now on my third project with Michael, who goes above and beyond in searching out that hard to find ancestor.
