Sir Henry Vaughans Company of Foot. In the Civil War of the 1640s, Wales was described as Nursery of The King's Infantry. Henry Vaughan, squire of Derwydd, near Llandeilo, was knighted in 1643 after he led a regiment raised from the Trained Bands (Militia) of the Western Counties of Wales to the king's headquarters Oxford. Now Sir Henry Vaughan's Company recreate the events of a momentous period in Welsh History with the Sealed Knot Society... The Heritage Centre was established in 1988 by a group of interactive historians and re-enactors of long standing and has gone on to build itself a good reputation for re-enactment events ranging from the Tudor period all the way up to the beginnings of the Cold War.
