GOLDWINS - Key Persons
Anthony has a wide range of skills in the field of accountancy, taxation of individuals and businesses and company auditing.
Anthony has great expertise in accounting for charities and also acts for a significant number of owner-managed businesses.
After graduating from Manchester University, Anthony started his accountancy career in 1986, training with a medium sized practice. By 1997 he had joined Moores Rowland (which then became part of BDO Stoy Hayward two years later) to specialise in charity accounting. He was recruited by the late Professor Adrian Randall, the UK's leading charity accountant. He left to join Goldwins in January 2000, with the brief to expand the firm's charities department. He was made a partner in 2001 and since then has overseen the rapid growth of the charities group.
Anthony serves on the annual Charity Accounts awards panel as a technical screener, has written several authoritative books on preparing charity accounts and is also the author of the ICAEW leading book on charity accounting, tax and auditing. Additionally he contributes articles to charity journals and speaks at charity seminars and conferences. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Charity Accounting and Financial Management from South Bank University and is a fellow of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners.
His charity interests extend beyond the office: he serves as trustee to an educational charity and is a Treasurer to another not-for-profit body. Anthony also added a further distinction when he qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser, reinforcing Goldwins' position at the forefront of taxation services. Anthony spends most of his non-working hours with his family (he is married with two children), and enjoys playing tennis and watching football, especially Arsenal winning.
