After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Business Economics, Adam commenced his insurance career with Thompson & Bryan loss assessors in early 2004 where he dealt with a broad range
of commercial and domestic claims. During this time he gained real insight into the requirements of policyholders. After eight successful years he changed sides and joined a national firm of loss
adjusters where he specialised in domestic claims of all types and also carried out pre-risk surveys on larger properties. Adam then joined a smaller firm of loss adjusters where he began handling High Net Worth claims and he developed a real interest in this sector. Adam joined Criterion in 2016 to be able to focus on these types of losses.

After graduating from University, with a First Class honours degree in Criminology, Damon started his career in Loss Adjusting and won a place on a graduate scheme for a large Loss Adjusting company. His initial training involved spending a year in a Claims handling office and Damon then moved into a field Loss Adjusting role. Damon has now dealt with a range of claims for numerous insurers and has experience of domestic and commercial losses. Damon has developed a particular interest in High Net Worth losses and to pursue this he joined Criterion in 2021. He has achieved his Cert. CILA qualification and is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

After completing a Law Degree, David commenced his Loss Adjusting career in 2000 with Davies Loss Adjusters. he then became Branch Manager of one of Davies largest offices in Guildford. In 2008 David moved to the Major & Complex Loss Unit of Davies to specialise in High Net Worth losses. In 2014 David's performance was recognised when he received an award from Sterling Insurance for claims handling ability in the High Net Worth field. David joined Criterion in early 2015 to concentrate further on Private Client and High Net Worth loss adjusting and was promoted to Operations Manager in October 2017.
David Pow Department: Loss Adjusters Location: Glasgow Email: dxp@criterionadjusters.com David initially worked for the Inland Revenue but wanted a more exciting career so moved into insurance and into claims. He joined the Esure insurance company in 2003 where he learnt the basics of claim handling. He moved to Loss Adjusters Cunningham Lindsay (now Sedgewicks) in 2006. David started as an Incident Manager but became a Loss Adjuster in 2008. Since then David has undertaken various field and desk-based roles handling a wide variety of claims from low value accidental damage to major fire and water claims. He also has considerable experience of drawing up building repair schedules following fire and water damage. David is a British Damage Management Insurance Technician and holds the Certificate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He joined Criterion at the start of 2020 and covers Scotland, Northern Ireland and further afield when required.

Frazer was born and raised in the UK but through his parentage has dual UK and Canadian nationality. He started as a loss adjuster in 1987 in Toronto, Canada when he joined an international firm. After training, Frazer began handling losses and he now has almost 35 years claims experience. Having relocated to the UK in 1995, he worked for 3 large adjusting firms, dealing with personal and commercial property losses and also liability claims. After a spell with Zurich Insurance as a claims inspector, Frazer returned to Canada for several years where he worked for one of the largest insurers, Wawanesa Mutual, leading a team of claims adjusters. Having returned to the UK and developed a particular interest in agricultural losses, Frazer joined NFUM insurance where he dealt with commercial farm claims and also High Net Worth losses. Having decided to go back into mainstream loss adjusting, Frazer then joined an international firm as an environmental adjuster where he handled a wide range of claims impacting the environment and often involving extensive decontamination prior to repair or reinstatement of the damaged property. Frazer joined Criterion in 2022, he is based in Somerset and covers the southwest region.

Helena is an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters ( CILA ) and in 2018 became the chair of The CILA High Net Worth Special Interest Group.
Qualifications: LLB Helena's insurance career began when she joined Sun Alliance Insurance company (now RSA) in 1989 as a junior claims handler. She entered Loss Adjusting in 1991 with Brocklehursts (now Crawfords) and in 1994 spent some time working in Antigua following a hurricane. Helena took a career break in 1998 to raise a family. Having returned to Loss Adjusting in 2010, Helena spent several years handling property claims arising from the full range of causes throughout south east England. She gradually began handling more and more complex claims including major losses, VIP private client cases and large real estate claims, including three losses for one policyholder at one building totaling £10m. Helena also took on increasingly senior roles. She became Head of Private Clients at The Davies Group in 2017 and most recently Helena was the Head of Major Loss & Private Clients with responsibility for a team of 20 Loss Adjusters. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and in 2018 became chair of the CILA HNW Special Interest Group. Helena is also on the committee of the Women in CILA group and has presented on the topic of Vulnerable Customers at the CILA conference.
Qualifications: LLB Jo has over 20 years experience in Customer Support Management roles, most notably within Dentsply Sirona, the world's largest manufacturer of professional dental solutions. In this role she managed Customer Support Teams both in the U.K. and overseas and was responsible for initiating and delivering multiple customer service improvement programmes including a large, complex European warehouse consolidation project. Jo is a graduate member of the Institute of Export and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Jo joined Criterion in August 2020 to manage our Support Team. This team provide the highest quality support possible for our loss adjusting and surveying services to ensure that we continue to deliver a highly professional and efficient claims handling service.

John Llywarch Department: Loss Adjusters Location: Weston-super-Mare Email: jbl@criterionadjusters.com Qualifications: Dip CII John started his insurance career in 1985 when he joined the General Accident insurance company. He began loss adjusting in 1991 with a national firm and following promotions he became a Technical Claims Manager leading a team of adjusters. As the nominated adjuster in his region for Subsidence, High Net Worth and antique losses, John developed a passion for customer service and technical excellence. In 2006 he relocated to Somerset and gradually began to specialise in Private Client and environmental claims, also handling losses throughout Europe. John joined Criterion in the autumn of 2015.

Following accountancy training, John began his loss adjusting career in 1984 with a national company where he was based in Liverpool. After handling a variety of domestic and commercial claims, John began specialising in larger theft losses and particularly fraud investigations. He subsequently managed a new office in Sevenoaks, Kent which proved successful and steadily expanded. John then joined the in-house loss adjusting team at Royal & Sun Alliance and for a period of eight years specialised in commercial losses and High Net Worth claims. John remains heavily involved in special investigation and fraud in all its forms. John joined Criterion in 2009 and is based in Harpenden, to the north west of London.
Qualifications: LLB Mark studied Leisure and Sports Management at Sheffield Hallam University, despite which he decided on a career in insurance ! He joined Norwich Union (now Aviva) in 1996 as a trainee Personal Injury claims handler. Mark developed a particular interest in fraudulent claims and in 1998 he moved into Norwich Union's specialist Fraud Team. He spent six years there, dealing with the investigation of all classes of fraudulent claims, including the presentation of evidence to court and police authorities. Mark ultimately became responsible for reporting on and analysing the teams fraud results and also for writing and delivering fraud training. Mark joined the Davies Group in July 2004 as a trainee general Loss Adjuster handling a wide range of personal lines and commercial claims. His experience grew steadily over the next 11 years, during the course of which he was heavily involved in several surge responses such as the national flooding in 2009. In 2015 Mark was promoted into the Private Clients and Major and Complex Loss Team where he handled High Net Worth losses, claims exceeding £100k, and other specialist losses such as environmental damage. Mark joined Criterion Loss Adjusters in April 2020 and is based in the East Midlands.

Neil is based in the South West and began his career in 2001 as a Claims Technician moving to a field adjusting role with managing large & complex marine cargo losses throughout the world. Neil then moved to Gibraltar to handle commercial property losses throughout the Iberian peninsula together with HNW claims for the London market. Returning to the UK, he has held various senior adjusting positions with international loss adjusting firms and focused on the handling of complex domestic, commercial property and business interruption claims. Neil is well known for his exceptional handling of complex claims across many sectors, including manufacturing, food production, listed buildings, contingency, specie, hospitality, retail, catastrophe response and he maintains very strong relationships with many clients.

Paul started his career in 1987, joining Sun Alliance as a trainee Underwriter and later moving into claims. He joined the Davies Group in 1991, becoming a Senior Adjuster and then Manager of the Nottingham office. During the 2007 floods Paul was responsible for the formation and management of a surge response team. In 2009 he joined the Major & Complex Loss Unit at Davies, specialising in High Net Worth claims and major losses and became an Associate Director in 2014. Paul is an Associate of the CII and fellow of the CILA.

Robin's career commenced with a major insurer before he entered loss adjusting in 1987. After handling a range of losses, Robin gradually began to specialise in building claims, developing particular expertise with subsidence. Robin joined the Davies Group in 1999 where he managed branch offices and began to focus on High Net Worth claims. In 2007 he was appointed manager of the Major & Complex Loss unit where he was responsible for all private client claims. Robin was also instrumental in the development of new and innovative procedures for handling environmental claims, in particular escapes of oil at High Net Worth properties. Robin joined Criterion in early 2015.

Sean is a Chartered Loss Adjuster and a Chartered Surveyor (Fine Art and Chattels division). Initially working for Phillips Auctioneers (Bonham's) he commenced loss adjusting in 1992 with Brocklehurst. In 1995 Sean joined Ellis & Buckle (now Cunningham Lindsey) dealing with a variety of losses. Sean established Cunningham Lindsey's Private Client Services divison, and managed the team that specialised in the complex and sensitive requirements of High Net Worth claims. Sean joined Criterion in March 2013. He has considerable experience in handling losses involving historic houses and estates along with VIP policyholders, Jewellers Block, Antiques Trades, collection and other commercial fine art risks.

He became Manager of the Manchester office in 1997 and under his guidance the office prospered and Sean became an Associate Director. In 2009 he joined the Major & Complex Loss Unit of the Davies Group where he specialised in handling High Net Worth claims throughout Europe. After working in the Middle East dealing with large commercial claims, Sean joined Criterion in 2015 and is part of the team covering the North of England but he also handles claims throughout the UK and Europe.

Stuart started his insurance career with a broker and in 1996 entered Loss Adjusting with a national firm. During this time he received comprehensive training and handled a variety of claims. Stuart joined Direct Line in 2000 as they expanded their in-house loss adjusting team and he gradually handled more complex household losses and in particular High Net Worth claims as well as carrying out pre-risk surveys. Having become a senior member of the team, Stuart also assisted in the training and development of new staff. Following his work in broking, risk surveying and claims, Stuart has really well-rounded experience. He joined Criterion in early 2016 and covers London and the Home Counties.

Terry's loss adjusting career began in South Africa in 1994 when he joined an international firm of adjusters. He worked for a number of firms over the years and gained experience of claims in the domestic, medical, hospitality, mining, industrial, commercial and manufacturing sectors. In particular, Terry handled some large thatch fires, jewellery thefts and commercial losses. By 2014, Terry was running his own loss adjusting business in Cape Town, receiving claims from some of the largest insurers and brokers in South Africa. These included High Net Worth and household claims along with commercial property and business interruption losses. In 2016 Terry relocated to the UK and initially joined a firm of adjusters handling commercial claims and he was closely involved in the firms response to two flossing catastrophes. He moved on to another firm in 2019 to gain further experience and over the course of his career there are very few types of claim Terry has not handled. He joined Criterion in 2022 to be able to focus on the High Net Worth sector and is based in Hampshire.
