James started his career working for NatWest Bank in 1994 before graduating from Derby University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Administration in 2001. James soon realised that the financial services industry was where he wanted to be and so started out as a self-employed mortgage advisor straight after obtaining his degree.
James then met Matthew Kelly, whilst working together at a local brokerage they both became very good friends but also shared the same work ethic and commitment to help their clients and so decided to set up Xchange Mortgages Ltd together in 2005.
James is married with two young children who keep him active with their various sporting activities. Outside of work, James is a Derby County and Belper Town FC fan and also a keen amateur football coach with aspirations to be the next Pep Guardiola!

Matthew started in financial services with the Prudential in 1996 as a financial advisor and obtained his full Financial Planning Certificates by July 1997.
He soon realised that he preferred to focus on mortgages and insurance products and when he left the Prudential became a mortgage consultant. He passed his CE Map (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) in 2002 and has been advising clients all over the UK since.
Matthew and James met in 2004 and set up Xchange Mortgages Ltd in 2005 and have been very good friends since then.
Matthew is married and has two grown up children and loves the Derbyshire countryside and dog walking. He also enjoys cooking and is partial to hosting a BBQ.
