BROWNFIELD SOLUTIONS - Key Persons

Aaron Stokoe

One of Aaron's key aims is for BSL to provide a best-in-class service, with our team always striving to provide technical excellence and adopt industry best practice to provide effective geo-environmental and geotechnical solutions that help release much-needed development land.

Amy Thornes

Amy is passionate about the environment and is aiming at reducing her carbon footprint as much as possible. She enjoys both the geotechnical and environmental aspects of the job, with the aim of working towards utilising her MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, although very much enjoys the contaminated land side of the job. Her hobbies include competing her horses, walking, camping and bird watching.

Jack Mather

Jack provides geo-environmental and geotechnical solutions for a wide variety of clients through desk studies, site investigations, remedial strategies and verification work. Outside of work Jack is a keen motorsports enthusiast, pub quizzer, sports fan, and enjoys walking in the Lake District.

Jake Wheaton

Jake's passion for geology and the environment led him to start a career with Brownfield Solutions in July 2016, and he hasn't looked back since. Outside of work he enjoys DIY, listening to music, spending time with his wife and playing video games with friends when he has the time.

James Jacob

James established Brownfield Solutions with Tony Hewitt in 2005. He has a strong desire to not only meet but exceed client's expectations. Having more than 30 years of experience in the site investigation industry he still loves the challenge of solving a site investigation with difficult ground conditions or access. When not working he enjoys spending time with his family, riding motorbikes, sailing and watching football, supporting a blue team from Manchester!

Joel Massey

Joel graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a First-Class Degree in Geography and a keen interest in contaminated land and sustainability. BSL is now facilitating his drive to make a difference and he enjoys working in mixed settings. Outside of work Joel strongly values family time and seeing his partner, going for long walks in his local countryside and drinking craft beer.

Lisa Cookson

Lisa enjoys all aspects of geoscience work, but particularly enjoys helping clients to determine the geo-environmental risks to proposed developments and coming up with solutions to move projects forward. Outside of work Lisa enjoys outdoor swimming, sewing children's clothing, baking and spending time with her family (humans and animals) in the garden and on adventures in the Lake District and North Wales.

Loren Gakhal

Loren is enthusiastic about providing solutions for challenging geo-environmental and geotechnical sites. She likes the fact that sites are always evolving which keeps her on her toes but also it allows her to learn and pass on her knowledge to clients and staff members. Outside of work, Loren loves to be in the garden listening to some music and finishing the day with a good film.
