Alex Bird

Alex is now the third member of a truly family run business. A keen sportsman, Alex has played rugby union at county and academy level as well as during his time at university. He continues to play golf, cricket and cycle through the summer months. After graduating from Newcastle University with a 1st class business degree Alex worked successfully in the high end jewellery market in Harrogate before shifting his focus and embarking upon a career in property. In addition to being a full time valuer, Alex is currently studying with the SAVA school of surveying to become a qualified RICS Chartered Surveyor.

Ken Bird - Managing Director

Ken is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and has over 38 years' experience in the local property market having sold thousands of houses in Wetherby and the surrounding villages. Leaving Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham with an honour's degree in Urban Estate Surveying he joined Hepper Watson in Leeds as a trainee negotiator/valuer in 1982. Promoted after 9 months and transferred to his home town where he went on to run two successful offices at Wetherby and Boston Spa after the partners at the time sold out to the Halifax group in 1987. Head hunted in 1997 to join Renton & Parr as a partner before taking over as Owner & Managing Director in March 2011. Married to Louise they have three sons, Patrick, Thomas and Alex all University graduates from Newcastle. Ken has been an active member of Wetherby Rugby and Golf Clubs and captained TABS 3rd team cricket side in the York Vale League. He is now making time to once again work on his golf handicap. Ken is still passionate about property and customer satisfaction and over the years established himself as one of the most respected estate agents in Wetherby.

Maureen Young

Known to many of our local clients through a long and distinguished career, Maureen retired from the front line office manager position over 10 years ago to then be retained as Account Manager ensuring the books balance and invoices are paid promptly.

Sally Auty

Sally joined Renton & Parr in 2021 as a sales negotiator bringing to the company over 15 years' experience in the industry within the Leeds area. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience of the property market and many customer facing roles throughout her career both in the UK and Jersey. She understands how important it is to find the dream home and loves to be part of the experience. Having lived in Jersey for 10 years working within the managerial hospitality industry, aside from her work life, she now juggles an active role on the farm as a farmer's daughter, taking her hands on approach to every part of her life. She has a passion for friends family and fun and has become a valuable member of the Renton & Parr team.

Sara Wilson

Sara joins Renton & Parr as a property consultant and negotiator bringing to the company over 15 years of experience in the industry, working in and around the Wetherby area. A graduate from Leeds University with a 2.1 degree in Customer Management, Sara is married with 2 children and a new addition Rolo the dog. Having travelled Australia and America working in the hospitality industry, Sara developed her passion for property in 2000 and she now forms a valued member of the Renton & Parr team. When not working Sara likes to keep active and loves walking and Zumba and is activity involved in village life helping with fund raising for Tockwith Festivals and the Tockwith Juniors Football Club.

Sonia Westerman

Sonia has been an integral part of the Renton & Parr team since joining from Bernard Thorpe estate agents (DTZ Debenham Thorpe) in 1994 and is the longest serving member of staff. Bringing a wealth of experience to her multi tasking role and a pride in her work that is recognised by everyone that meets her. Amongst her many and varied duties perhaps her key role includes preparing accurate property details for vendor approval before uploading to the portals, ensuring compliance with changing legislation and resolving IT issues. Sonia enjoys the interaction with clients and gains particular pleasure from being able to assist clients with their property needs. Having been part of the local community in Wetherby all her life, married with two daughters life can be hectic for Sonia but she still finds time to enjoy holidays, shopping and cycling.

Thomas Bird

Having hung up his rugby boots and rowing lycra some years ago now, Tom now enjoys a social round of golf or hill walking in the Yorkshire countryside or Lake district when his busy family life permits. Passionate about the local property market and having served clients for over 10 years there isn't much Tom hasn't professionally assisted in, whether it be for buyers, sellers or landlords alike. Tom is proud to work alongside his father Ken and brother Alex supported by an excellent team to provide unrivalled local market knowledge and experience.
