Gianni Dorigo

I've been in the mountains since I was a kid, and I practiced many sports, until I have devoted soul and body to the mountain, my great passion. I have been Alpine Guide since 2009 and I started to dedicate myself to this noble craft: the intention to communicate to others this my enthusiasm for mountaineering together with the necessary technical knowledge. I am lucky to visit so many beautiful places, every time a great discovery and adventure.

James Clapham

I've started rock climbing on the granite outcrops of Dartmoor and the sea cliffs of south-west England as a teenager. My love of the mountains has led to adventures on six continents from sea stacks to the high Himalaya. Twenty years on, I now share the enthusiasm for the mountains year-round, quite simply - 'I have the best job in the world!'

Floss has been ski teaching all over the world for 16 years now and with 19 ski seasons under her belt (she says that makes her feel old!) she's still as passionate as ever.

Matej Kovačič

Winter or summer, climbing or skiing, soaring in my paraglider high above the ground; it doesn't matter if I am guiding or just having fun with friends, I am just happy when I am in the mountains. Guiding for me is not a job - it is a state of mind and a lifestyle. Winter in the mountains has always been a special time when I get to indulge my passions for skiing, ice climbing and even Himalayan expeditions. I have spent a lot of time working as a ski instructor, and in 2014 I became an IFMGA qualified mountain guide, allowing me to guide off-piste and tours to my heart's content! I love to show off secret ski lines in Zinal or Chamonix to my clients or explore all over the Alps and Slovenian mountains on skis with them. In the summer, I am guiding all over the Alps - it is great to reach the top of a high mountain with clients, no matter the season. It is my pleasure to be part of the Mountain Tracks' team!

Matt Dickinson

Job Titles:
  • IFMGA Mountain Guide & Lead Guide
I have been an IFMGA guide since the year 2000 and have 30 years of climbing and mountaineering experience. For me it all started on the gritstone edges of my home county Derbyshire and from a young age I was hooked on climbing and the mountains, many adventures and expeditions followed including notable new routes on Greenland's big walls. In the 90's I spent many years leading mountaineering expeditions in the greater ranges and summited on many high peaks of the Himalayas and the Andes. In the winter of 2012 I completed winter ascents of the north face of the Eiger, Matterhorn and Grand Jorasses. Solo climbing, both roped and un-roped has always been a special forte and over the years have completed numerous difficult solo climbs throughout Britain and the Alps. I live on the edge of the Peak District with my wife Edyta and three young children Mia, Harry and James, close to the crags which is hugely important to me and enables me to climb whenever I have time.

Sandy Allan was born and raised in Dalwhinnie in the Highlands of Scotland and has been climbing since his teens. He qualified as an IFMGA/BMG guide in 1993. Since the 1980s he has established many hard new winter and mixed climbs in Scotland and in the Himalaya. He has guided clients to the summits of many of the highest mountains in the world including Mount Everest and Cho Oyu. As well as guiding in the Himalaya, he has been involved in many expeditions including Muztagh Tower, Lhotse West and the Scottish Direct Route on the south face of Pumori. In 2012 he completed the first ascent of one of the Himalaya's most coveted, unclimbed climbs - the Mazeno Ridge of Nanga Parbat and was awarded the Piolet d'Or in 2013. Sandy will act as a Course Director for all Scottish courses and if for some reason he will not be able to guide them he will select a qualified UK mountain instructors and leaders or another IFMGA guide.
