Prior to joining BCL Legal, Alex worked as a digital marketing and office manager for over eight years within the claims management industry.
Alex now specialises in handling opportunities for solicitors, associates and partners across multiple disciplines in Scotland. He also manages our Scotland PP recruitment team.
Alison is a director in our in-house legal team. She specialises in in-house recruitment at all levels across the North West, both on a permanent and interim basis.
Alison studied law at university and began her career with a national law firm. In 2004, she made the decision to move into recruitment and worked for a large national recruiter and a niche legal specialist before joining BCL Legal in 2018.
Alison's focus is on building relationships and she works exclusively with organisations across an array of sectors. Having worked extensively with clients providing both permanent and interim instructions, she is well placed to provide bespoke commercial advice on the market. Above all, Alison believes in a long term approach, built on the accurate understanding of clients' needs and candidates' motivations.
Alison and the in-house team are dedicated to helping develop the sector and the legal professionals who work within it. As part of this commitment, Alison and the team regularly run CPD accredited training courses in conjunction with leading law firms including Addleshaw Goddard, DLA Piper, Pinsent Masons and Shoosmiths. The courses range from legal updates to ‘softer skill' developmental programmes.

Angharad studied law at the University of Leeds before completing the LPC and subsequently qualifying as a solicitor in 2005. Angharad worked for a niche property firm that predominately worked for groups of high net worth individuals building property portfolios. As well as practising property law, a large part of Angharad's role involved the management of the firm as well as presenting at seminars for property investors and providing advice on property and tax.
After qualification, Angharad remained at her training firm and spent a further four years in practice before taking a year out to go travelling in 2010. Returning to the UK in 2011, Angharad decided to make a move into legal recruitment and joined BCL Legal.
Initially focussing on recruitment in Leeds, Angharad has specialised in the recruitment of solicitors into Birmingham's leading commercial law firms since 2015. Angharad's developed close relationships with all of the major national, international and regional firms in Birmingham and handles their vacancies at all levels of PQE from newly qualified solicitors to partner level appointments. Angharad's focus is on real estate, construction and commercial roles. She is also a team manager.

She then went on to work at Antony Hodari Solicitors and Slater Gordon Lawyers.
Carla is also a qualified yoga teacher (2017) and has enjoyed a variety of teaching experiences including teaching on a yoga retreat in Mykonos in 2022.
