Dr Bill Budenberg - Founder

Job Titles:
  • Founder
Bill studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, and then was awarded his PhD by Imperial College London in 1990, after completing a thesis on the behaviour of cereal aphid parasitoids. This work was completed at Rothamsted (www.rothamsted.ac.uk). He then took a Post-doctoral fellowship at ICIPE in Nairobi, Kenya, for three years ( www.icipe.org ) and successfully worked on the identification of pheromones and kairomones of the banana weevil. Bill then returned to the UK and set up Tracksys Ltd as the UK and Ireland distributor for Noldus (www.noldus.com) in October 1993. His vision was for a responsive company that provided a deep and knowledgeable assessment of the products it was distributing, and the scientific understanding to see whether they could be useful in customers' (potential) research, backed up by excellent after sales support. These values of honesty and commitment to customers are held by all our staff today. Our vision is that as much as possible of your contact with the company will be handled by the same person, leaving less room for misunderstandings, and less need to repeat information about the research during after sales support. Bill is no longer active day to day, but remains a Director.

Dr Richard Lilley

Richard developed his interest in all things behavioural as an undergraduate. He completed a Ph.D at Imperial College looking at modifying the behaviour of crop pests and their natural enemies. A desire to do as much applied work as possible led to post-doctural work in the hop fields of Kent. An opportunity arose to do web design and conference organisation presenting him with the tricky decision of whether to continue to do research directly, or help others in a more commercial role. Starting out as web-designer and zoology support for Tracksys, Richard is now one of its Directors and oversees a host of behavioural projects across human and animal sciences, in academia and the commercial sector. Richard particularly enjoys discussing research plans with potential clients, matching them to the solutions Tracksys offers and putting clients in touch with each other to create opportunities for innovative research. When not spending time with his wife and pre-teenage kids (may these days never end) he is exploring the theory that it is possible to run faster at the age of 50 than at 35. Richard can be contacted at richard@tracksys.co.uk

Lee Voong

Lee Voong joined Tracksys in December 2000, as an Administration Assistant, after a very short training period she took over the role as Office Manager, and is now the Operations Manager at Tracksys. Lee is now responsible for running the office in Nottingham, and is usually the first point of contact, she will also be able to help with Order enquiries, Purchasing and Accounts. When not juggling a busy family life (she now have a very active 2 year-old) she still enjoys the same things, although clubs and festivals have been swapped for family pubs and parks, and the sports car was exchanged for 5 door hatchback!
