The club celebrated its centenary in 2005 although it has gone through several identities during that time. The Estate of Hurst Park really took off in the second half of the 19th Century under the ownership of the Evans family. They made their wealth initially from printing, but in later years the coal industry. Open cast mining was even taking place on the land that is now the Golf Course.
