I started in the world of estate agency back in 1985 earning £26.25 per week on the Youth Training Scheme (YTS). I went into this business because, having left school with O'levels in only maths and art, it was either finding a job which involved painting by numbers or using my other skill, the gift of the gab!
I have worked in the Residential Lettings industry for over 20 years and have a wealth of experience in both the Rugby area and the surrounding villages. Having recently taken my ARLA exams Horts Lettings are now an ARLA registered company, our landlords and tenants have the support from a regulated governing body who can provide advice and support where needed. We, at Horts Lettings, believe that getting the basics right and keeping our promises is paramount to our service and reputation.
I started my career in the lettings industry only recently. I was looking for a fast paced environment where every day brings a new challenge. I really enjoy dealing with people and problem solving. I have already started to take my ARLA exams so that I can offer all my clients the most professional advice.
I joined Horts after spending five years in the retail industry which has provided me with the excellent customer service skills I believe are necessary when providing a great service to both landlords and tenants. I am delighted to be part of such a reputable team and will be making sure that I do everything I can to add my skills to the ever growing success of Horts Lettings.
I joined the lettings team in August 2022 as an administrator but have since dived into all aspects of business. I help Sue with her maintenance, Anita with her property visits and Susan with her paperwork. No two days are the same!

My family have lived in Rugby for generations and I have seen the Town grow and develop to become a sought after place to live. I grew up in Hillmorton and left at 18 years old to study at University, achieving a Masters degree in business. After working around the country for several years it was finally time to settle down and raise a family and there was only one place I would consider. I returned to Rugby over a decade ago and joined the amazing team at Horts.
During my time working with Horts I have helped move hundreds of people, welcoming many people to the area, others leaving the town to start lives in exciting new places, and also assisting locals move up or down the property ladder.

My family and I came to Wootton in 2008 because we wanted to be part of a fantastic community and wanted to benefit from the wonderful schools and transport links. We were immediately inspired by the local community, the people and the desire from the local people to make this a fantastic place to live. I have spent all of my adult life serving people whether it be in hospitality or in Estate Agency. Moving home is a huge deal and you need someone who really enjoys working with people and someone who is working hard on your behalf. I have been an estate agent since 1989, working across Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. I established Horts with Adam Wellesley in 1996. Between us we built a company that offers a committed and dedicated service with an honest approach. I believe very strongly in getting the basics right and delivering an expert and personal service.
I joined Horts Estate Agents as a Independent Property Consultant in 2013 after my husband Ray suggested my skill set and customer service experience would be a real asset to vendors and buyers alike. We then became Team Jacobs. My many years in customer service taught me that the most important things are listening and communication. I'm passionate and driven with the goal to make what can be a lengthy process as stress free as possible. I believe my strengths are my attention to detail and delivering on promises in a can do, proactive way. I really enjoy my various roles with no day being the same but, in particular, the journey with clients from initial valuation through to key handover on completion day.
My knowledge in the industry is drawn from 9 years lettings experience in and around the Rugby area. I have been part of the Horts lettings team since its opening in 2008 and have developed strong working relationships with our customers. I gained my ARLA (association of residential letting agents) qualification in 2011 which promotes letting industry standards across the UK. This allows me to work in the best interests of both landlords and tenants alike.
Having been born and raised in Rugby, marrying here, and raising a family, I consider myself well acquainted with the area and the people who live here, making me the ideal person to sell your property.
Being involved in the industry for over 35 years has given me a wealth of experience in all areas, including mortgage services, property rentals and sales.

I joined the Horts team in 2022, after working for several years in customer facing rolls, and I'm delighted to be working for such a reputable letting agent. Having rented homes myself, both privately and via an agent, I feel that I am able to really relate, on a personal level, to our tenants. I am currently working towards obtaining my ARLA qualification as I pride myself on being able to provide the best possible service to both tenants and landlords alike.
