Mr. Bryan William McCarthy

Born and raised in Hull, Yorkshire Bryan spent his childhood fishing, playing football and idolising Raich Carter. He played in the championship winning Hull City Youth Football Club. He left home at 15 and enrolled at an agricultural college, graduated in 1957 gaining a Victor Delorum. Bryan promptly enlisted in the R.A.F. serving his country for 12 years mainly as a Fireman and then as a supply technician during many areas of conflict. In 1960 he was seconded to NATO. In 1968 he received an AOC's Commendation and was mentioned in the Queen's Honours List.
