BACH NETWORK

Bach Network UK was founded in 2004 by John Butt, Reinhard Strohm and Ruth Tatlow to serve Bach studies worldwide. Gradually new trustees joined the board and as the work of BNUK developed we decided to change our leadership structure, so that in 2010 we had both a board of trustees and an Advisory Council, which in 2014 was renamed as the Bach Network Council. Our annual J. S. Bach Dialogue Meetings became a biennial event in 2009, alternating in even years with contributions to the Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music. Our widely-read web journal Understanding Bach was first issued in 2006 and was published in twelve annual volumes until 2017. This was succeeded in 2020 by our multimedia publication Discussing Bach... Bach Network welcomes artists, scientists, Bach scholars and performers to engage with Understanding Bach and its dialogue meetings
