Foundation and ObjectsThe Society of Construction Arbitrators was founded in 1983.The principal object of the Society is to lay down and secure the maintenance of standards to be observed by members in connection with their work as arbitrators or other tribunal members in disputes in the Construction Industry. It also has a number of other objectives which are set out in detail in the Rules of the Society.MembershipMembership is by invitation only.Following revision of its Rules in 2016, the Society has three grades of Member:
