e-2 works in partnership with artists and arts organisations, to research, advise on, create and support projects for new media, new platforms and new spaces... Established in 1997 to explore the creative and cultural potential of emerging digital technologies, e-2 has commissioned and presented a series of substantial new works from up and coming contemporary artists, three of whom went on to achieve a Turner Prize nomination... Container-ship is an innovative digital arts project, commissioning new work from contemporary artists specifically for the Internet. The website uses the unifying metaphor of a cargo boat or container-ship, which will 'travel' the world collecting containers in a rolling programme of curation.
