Clare has represented and advised local authorities for over 25 years dealing with employers' liability and public liability cases. Clare supervises a team, with particular experience in dealing with fraud cases involving the public and employees. Clare also deals with abuse cases relating to allegations of negligence against social services departments and allegations of failure to manage care by Children's Services. Clare has dealt with historic cases relating to abuse. Clare's experience extends to advising local authorities in cases arising out of the provision of social care and housing for adults and cases involving the Human Rights Act 1998. Clare specialises in complex occupational stress and bullying cases brought against local authorities, understanding the impact that such cases can have on the employer and its employees and the need for a pragmatic and constructive approach together with a keen eye for detail. Clare is a member of the Sports Law team, having advised the Commonwealth Games Wales Board for over 12 years.

Simon has over 25 years' experience of defending public sector organisations and major insurers on a wide range of issues from personal injury claims of the utmost severity and complexity through to developing strategies for large scale litigation. Simon has assisted client departments with policy drafting and interpretation and deals with high value and catastrophic claims involving personal injury arising from highways, employers' liability and landlord & tenant issues. Simon is a member of the steering group responsible for drafting "Well Managed Highway Liability Risk" published by the Institute of Highway Engineers providing guidance to the UKRLG "Well Maintained Highway Infrastructure." He assists motor insurers through all claim phases from the initial gathering of evidence, police interviews, representation at Coroners' courts and through the civil claim process. Simon is the editor of the firm's quarterly motor newsletter "Headlight." Simon also handles property damage claims involving flooding, land charges, grants and common law issues. Simon has advised Institutional and social landlords in regard to housing disrepair claims to include defensibility strategies.
