EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPMENT

Education for Development specialises in the use of community or non-formal learning to address the needs of disadvantaged communities. Working through local partners, our learning programmes are developed from a detailed understanding of communities, gathered through participatory rural appraisals by local facilitators... We specifically aim to promote and develop sustainable practices in-country. We work with educators on all forms of learning programmes (literacy, women's programmes, conflict resolution, capacity building, vocational/employment skills, agricultural extension, primary health etc), providing support through the training of trainers, curriculum development, materials development, and monitoring and evaluation activities as well as research and project design... At the request of partner organisations, Education For Development has assisted with the development of learning programmes in Africa, Asia and Europe. We have developed literacy and conflict resolution..
